Tainted
Chapter 1: Forgotten
I was lying on the floor, my body was bruised. My head rested against the cool wood floor, vaporizing the beads of sweat that was trickling down my face. I raised my head, eyes searching, looking around the room. It was dirty and dusty; probably deserted a couple of years ago.
I searched the entire room. It was bare, except for a few car parts left to rust, and two doors on the opposite sides of the room.
I found what I was searching for.
He was leaning against one of the walls. Tan skin glistening, dark hair covering his eyes, and blue eyes watching me intently.
"Where are we?" I asked, finding my voice for the first time. It came out horse and garbled.
"Cannon Beach", he simply stated.
"But-", I said, "Raphael, You know they will kill us!"
"It was the only safe place, besides they won't be hunting us tonight."
"How can you tell?" I spluttered.
"Gabrielle has taken care of them", Raphael said. Disgust lining on the word them.
"Bu-"
"Don't worry Amarelle", he said meeting my eyes.
"I don't thi-"
My sentence was cut, because the door was splintered open. Fragments of wood scattering along the floor.
Raphael jerked up and positioned himself in front of me.
They came inside wings spread around them. Pure white wings, giving off their own light.
I immediately picked myself up. My arms were sore due to our last adventure. I stood next to Raphael, his dark wings touching my own.
"So much for not worrying", I muttered.
I was still groggy but awake enough to realize we were in danger. They had come in packs today. Around 5 angels stood in front of us, each carrying a silver sword around their waist.
The air around us grew thick with tension. It was our destruction or theirs.
Simple.
I reached into my side pulling my own sword out. My fingers lacing themselves into position. I could smell the faint familiar smell of leather clinging into the air. My sword glimmering in the light, glowing ruby's encrusted on the handle. Given to me by Lucifer himself.
"They are heading behind us", Raphael whispered.
I could hear more wood splintering. The door on the opposite side was broken.
I crouched, my sword heavy against my arms.
Angels kept flooding in each drawing out their swords in unison. I counted around 9. The odds were against us.
"Creatures of the Devil, you will be destroyed. We can not let filthy creatures roam around Earth, harming humans." A tall serene looking woman said. Brown hair flowing around her shoulders, curling slightly.
"Well, that's nice to hear", I snapped.
Before any of them noticed, I started to run. My feet thumping against the wood floor. My heart picked up its pace, hammering in my chest. I leaped in the air and in a second plunged my sword on one of the poor angels in my path. The blade hit him squarely on his chest. Instantly blood started pouring down his chest, cascading rivers of crimson.
Pure angel blood would heal any disease, but a lethal poison to the fallen.
To make sure the job was finished, I twisted my wrist, so the sword would tear through the heart completely destroying it. I quickly withdrew the sword, carefully avoiding any blood. The angel buckled and fell. His glorious brown eyes covered themselves with a thin glaze.
Everything was done in 5 seconds, not even a moment to blink.
As soon as the others noticed that one of their own had fallen, they charged. Swords drawn lined with poison, ready to attack.
Raphael gave me a nod and we both followed into battle.
Another angle came charging at me, silver hair flowing behind. As he swung I swerved out of the way, aiming for his legs. Swinging it skillfully I managed to sever his leg. His leg, detached itself leaving a trail of crimson.
I struck my sword deep inside his chest, slowly sinking it in. His hazel eyed pleading me to stop. It was the only way to finish the job...
No remorse.
