"I still don't think you should do this." Leon protested, "It's dangerous."

My cousin can worry so much. It gets old very quickly.

"You'll never know what could happen. I don't want you getting hurt."

"Your right. I'll never know cause it won't happen."

"Unbelievable. You won't listen to reason. Fine I'm going with you."

    "We've discussed this."

"Azayla, time to leave!" My mother's voice calls, silencing any arguments I could make.

"Coming!" I call back then turn to Leon, "You are not coming. I can do this myself."

I can't have Leon along. It'll be a prison with him there. Leon is lovable, but with him it's like have a second mom. The one I have is already enough.

I grab my suitcase, making sure I have my mother's ring. She freaks if I don't have it with me. She won't tell me why either.

When I get to the plane doors, Jenkel is waiting for me.

"When will you be back." My brother sniffles.

"Sometime soon." Leaning down closing, I whisper, "I'll even bring something back for you."

Jenkel perks up with the mention of presents. "Yay!"

"Azayla! Let's go!" My mother pushes me towards the gateway.

    "Fine, fine."

I walk onto the private plane my parents prepared for us. I really wish they hadn't. They overreact way too much. It's just a visit to our rival enemy, the Silvrian Empire. Exactly as I was trained to do.

"You do know you're flying into enemy territory, right?" Leon says behind me, causing me to jump.

"When did you get here?" I shriek.

    "Invisibility." He grins.

"Luck you." I roll my eyes. People with gold blood have the ability to perform magic, although it's limited and depends on who you are. The ability is known as Hex, and royalty are the only ones born with gold blood.

"Yours will come soon enough." Leon reassures me. My talents have yet to 'mature' according to my parents.

"I'm sure they will." What Leon doesn't know is that i'm not actually gold blooded. I'm just a red, with no abilities at all. Not necessarily a bad thing, unless you're a princess.

"At least you're not orange like your dad." My dad has Decipher, or the ability to hack into computers, pick locks, etc. Though many only have the ability to do one or the other.

I don't respond and after a few minutes of silence, Leon speaks again. "You never answered my first question."

    "Which was."

"You do know that you're going into enemy territory? They could kill or something."

"What? Like they're going to injure the princess of their rivals?"

    "You never know."

"I highly doubt it. They want to end this war just as everyone else. What they don't want to do is prolong by killing me off."

"How do you know that for sure? They're silvers. Their abilities literally go hand in hand with war. They could easily be blood thirsty savages."

"Like I said, I highly doubt. Besides, shouldn't you be worrying about yourself? You snuck on here, with no suitcase. Did you even pack anything?"

Panic took over his features. It also gave me a few more minutes of silence as he internally debated over his own situation.

I leaned back in my chair, closing my eyes. It is a ten hour flight from Rio, our capital city, to New York City, the Silvrian capital. However, Leon's words echoed in my head.

Silvrian's abilities lay in weaponry. It's said they can wield any weapon skillfully, hence the name Blade. It's even why we're at war. Not only do they hate magic, but they thought they should be the ruling class.

After the Third World War, mutations of the blood started appearing. Those with gold blood thought they should be in power and started the Golden Monarchy. However silvers thought the same thing, and formed the Silvrian Empire. Continents were split between the two. Even so, war still broke out and continues today.

Which is why i'm heading there now. I'm supposed to be an emissary, and sort some type of negotiation to put an end to this long fought war.

"Please fasten your seatbelt and prepare for landing." The overhead voice jolted me out of my thoughts. Had ten hours really passed by? Maybe I did doze off.

"Look." Leon's face was pressed against the window. "It's so different compared to Rio. So many skyscrapers."

Before I could get up and look, the plane was landing. The doors slid open a few minutes later, letting in bright light. I unfastened my seatbelt, grabbed my suitcase, and headed out with Leon following me.

    We have arrived.
