Volume 1, Chapter 1: A fresh start

In the cafe a party is being held by Lie Ren, Lie Nora(Nora Valkyrie), and yang Xiao long, celebrating their kids acceptation into beacon. " So, Kei are you exited about being expected into Beacon?" Ren asked his son. "Dad, Of course I am. You, Mom, Miss Yang , and Miss Ruby went there." Kei said in a calm, but somewhat exited voice. "What did I tell you about calling me miss kid, It makes me feel old!, Just call me aunt." Yang yelled at Kei. "Don't worry Kei, you'll be fine. Wanna know why, cause I trained you. Plus you drink milk." Ruby told Kei. "Yeah, Beacon is gonna teach you how to give a serious ass whooping to all those Grimm." Nora said excitedly. "Nora!" Ren scolded Nora. "Well what about you, Yin?" Yang asked her son. "Well i'm pretty happy I got excepted," Yin began in her normal tone. "But if Kei gets in my way, I won't hesitate to put him in his place." Yin said while turning to Kei with a demonic smile. After that comment everyone burst into laughter.

After almost hours, every one began to leave except for Kei and Yin. "You know what to do if something happens you two." Ren turned back and told Kei and Yin. "They'll be fine Ren, stop being so uptight." Yang told Ren. "I guess you right." Ren answered to Yang as they all walked away. "Geez Kei, I hope your cookie addiction goes away when we get to Beacon." Yin told Kei while he ate cookies. "Never!" Kei said with a mouth full of cookies. Just as Yin was about to say another word a crash was heard from the kitchen of the cafe. "Whoa, what was that. Kei you heard that right?" Yin asked Kei. Kei nodded in response. right when Yin was getting up to inspect the sound, the owner of the cafe flew out the kitchen and onto the counter. "Sir, are you OK?" Kei asked the Cafe owner. "Get back here you filthy Faunas.!" A voice said from the kitchen. Kei and Yin backed away from the counter and into the middle of the cafe. A man in a black suit came from the back and and grabbed the faunas, but looked up and saw Yin and Kei. "Boss, we've got some witnesses." The man said while staring at Yin. A bunch of men began to crowd Kei and Yin. "Alright lets see what we have here," A voice said while pushing through the crowd of men. "Oh, children, isn't it a bit past your bed time?" Tortwick sarcastically asked Kei and Yin. "I'm 17, I don't exactly have a bed time." Yin answered to Tortwick. Tortwick gave Yin a weird look. "Whatever, what you kids just saw was a robbery, now I don't want to hurt you..... But these guys do. So you have three options, Leave and tell no one what you witnessed, come with us and we'll wipe this from your memory, or join us. I don't know what we can do with two little kids like you two, but i'll find something. Now which will it be?" Tortwick told Kei and Yin. Kei began to lower his hand and put it behind his jacket. "How about, none of the above." Kei said as he pulled out his backpack, and transformed it into a sword. "Darn kids these days, just like little red," Tortwick said to himself. "what are you waiting for, Get them!" Tortwick yelled at his men. Yin began to transform his bracelets into gauntlets. Multiple men ran at Kei, but he jumped in the air to dodge them and pointed his sword facing the ground and stuck his sword in the ground creating a small shock wave, and sending some of the men flying, crashing through the cafe windows and door. "Oops, sorry about the windows, and the door, and you floor..." Kei said in apology while looking at the cafe owner. Men ran at Yin from all sides, but she punched through every one of them, sending them flying though the already broken windows. "Yin, go get every one and tell them what's happening." Kei yelled over to Yin. Yin nodded and ran out the Cafe and down the street. "Didn't I say not to tell anyone." Tortwick said loud enough for Ryker to hear as he shot at her with his cane. Ryker shot at the bullets from Tortwick's cane and kept running. Kei ran and slashed at Tortwick, but Tortwick blocked the attack and ran out the shot to a roof top. "You'll be fine alone, right?" Kei asked the Cafe owner. The Cafe owner nodded and Kei ran off after Tortwick. Tortwick was on the roof top and jumped into a airship. "We have a little red wanna-be here." He yelled to the person piloting. The airship took off swiftly without a trace. ruby had jumped onto the roof top Kei was on and noticed the airship. "Dang it, I was to late, Oh Kei, are you OK?" Ruby asked Kei. "Yeah, but who was that?" Kei answered and asked Ruby. "Doesn't matter, I just know I have to get you home safe though." Ruby Said while pulling Kei by his hand and running away.

Months later Kei and Yin were on an airship to Beacon. Kei looked out the window in amazement. "We're so high up." "Hey Kei, do you know anyone besides me going to Beacon?" Yin asked Kei. "What no why..," Kei answered and asked. "Well, we won't be on the same team, I don't want you being a leader on the same team as me. So I want to know if you have friends here besides me, so you can be on their team." Yin answered avoiding Kei's eyes. "Well I don't but if you really don't want me on your team i'll make some friends. I mean with me being socially awkward half the time this will be and easy job." Kei said sarcastically. "Oh, thank you Kei, go break a leg.." Yin said happily. "Ummm..... Don't say that, remember what happened last time someone said that." Kei said giving Yin a weird look with a fake smile. "Oh right, well you know what I mean." Yin answered Kei while punching him in the shoulder.

kei walks on to beacon soil. "Whoa, Beacon is way bigger than I expected, I still can't believe dad and mom actually went here!" kei said as he marveled in the sight of Beacon's huge main building. "Man, this place is big," A feminine voice said in the distance. Kei was curious to meet this stranger, they at least seemed to have one thing in common, they were both new to Beacon. He walked over to the girl. "this place is big, right," He asked the girl confidently. "Oh, y...yes, it is," A smile begins to creep onto Kei's face. He sticks out his hand towards his new potential friend to shake her hand. "Hi, name's Kei, I know, it sounds weird but hey its my name." "Oh," She says as she begins to smile. "My name's grace, oh,and I think your name is cool." Grace says as she shakes kei's hand. "Well, It's been great meeting you, I hope to see you around." Kei says as he begins to walk away. "It's been great meeting you too, Hope to see you around too." Grace says as she waves to Kei. Another person walks onto the campus and marvels at Beacon. " Wow, this place really is huge, My dad wasn't kidding." She says to herself as she keeps walking towards the main building.

Moments later most of the students are in the auditorium. "This place is great and all, but I don't know anyone here." She says quietly to herself as she walks through the auditorium. kei accidentally bumps into the girl. "Oh sorry," Kei says in apology. " I didn't see, you there, I was amazed by this place, I guess I got a little distracted." "Oh, It's OK, Yeah this place is pretty big." She Replies. "My name's kei, i'm new here," He tells her. "MY name is Izzy, Izzy Branwen." Izzy replies. "Attention, Attention students," Professor Ozpin begins on the microphone. "Whoa, professor Ozpin, he's still alive. Man he must be real old." Kei said to Izzy as he began to laugh. They both chuckled and seize to listen to Ozpin. "I will try to keep this brief, all first year students listen up," He continued. "You all are special, you have what it takes to be a what you desire. Here you will learn more about yourself and meet new people that will make impacts on your lives, but, what we teach you will only take you so far. It is your job as hunters and huntresses to finish the pages of life's book. But what you write is all up to you." Professor Ozpin states in a serious manner. "Now, tomorrow at this time we shall begin the team trials. The event will be held in the field, that is all." Ozpin says as he begins to turn and walk away. A first year student arrived late, right after Ozpin's speech. "Crap, I'm late. And Ozpin just finished too." He said with disappointment. Izzy walked up to the late student acknowledging that he was late. "Your late you know, no worries though, I'll fill you in in what happened. The important things anyway.
