I had just laid Ciel back into his bed, his hair slightly damp from the bath and in a fresh change of night clothes. I sat on the bed beside him, gazing out the window. It was growing dark out, and Sebastian hadn't come home. I was beginning to worry, but then I tried to imagine what on earth could hurt him and my calm quickly returned.
I drew the curtains, and as soon as I turned around, Sebastian was standing there.
"You're back," I smiled at him, taking a seat on the edge of the bed.
"Yes," he said, making his way to the bedside. "How is his fever?"
"Bad," I admitted. "I tried a cold bath. He just now went back to sleep."
Sebastian frowned and placed a hand on his head. Ciel opened his eyes tiredly and turned to us. It was the first time I had ever seen his mark in full detail, down to the characters inscribed on it. He had had his patch off around me before, but never made full eye contact. It was a bright glowing violet, a beautiful contrast against his blue eyes.
