*Madelyn's POV*
About an hour later, we pulled into a driveway. Carly had fallen asleep, and there was an awkward silence in the car. I shook Carly awake, and we all got out and grabbed our suitcases.
"Well girls, this is my house. I have a bedroom already set up for you girls," mom said.
For some odd reason, Carly shot mom a dirty look. I think she was mad at the whole fact mom just tore us away from dad, and not let us spend some time with him. That kind of annoyed me too, but hey, things happen. I would still love my mom, and I didn't want anyone hurt. Apparently Carly didn't agree. I followed mom as she unlocked the house door and we walked into a house that looked as if no one had lived in it for years.
"Yeah, haven't been here in awhile," mom said, reading my thoughts.
She took us upstairs and showed us our bedroom, which had two separate brass beds, robin egg blue comforters and snow white walls. It was a beautiful room, but I still did miss the one at dad's. I opened the closet, and started unpacking my stuff. Carly sat on the bed, and she pulled out a picture of dad, and stared at it. Wow, she really did miss him. I was just hoping she wouldn't do anything stupid and suddenly turn on our mom, she cared enough about us to let us stay here.
I was already done putting my stuff away, and Carly still sat on the bed, looking at the photo. I crossed my arms and huffed,
"You had better start unpacking sis," and I walked downstairs.
Mom was in her office, and I lightly knocked on her door.
"Come in!" she said, and I walked in.
She was on her computer, and I sat down. Her office was neat, except it was pink with a bunch of Adventure Time and Nyan Cat stuff, along with flowers lining the windowsill. "Uhm, mom, this office is pretty girly," I said, sucking in my cheeks. She laughed and said, "I know, Adam wouldn't let me put any girly stuff in our shared office, so I exploded with it in here."
I stood up and peeked at her computer. She was on instagram and I saw her click the "delete account" button.
"Mom, what are you doing?" I asked.
She sighed, and put her head in her hands.
"Deleting all of my social media accounts, why?"
She continued on deleting stuff, and I said, "What about your fans? And why would you delete them because of a break up?" She turned to me in her computer chair, and her eyes got glossy. Tears were forming, and she started a story that shocked me,
"It feels like I don't have any fans. And it's not just because of the break up, it's because I know umpteen people will question me, send me death threats, and hate on me even more. Ever since Adam showed me on his channel, people have been calling me ugly, fat, retarded, annoying, slut, and anything else possible."
When she finished, tears were sliding down her cheeks. My heart shattered, and all I could manage was, "Oh mom, please don't cry!" I ran out of the office and into the kitchen, snatching up a few tissues before going Sonic running back to her. She gratefully accepted them, and dabbed the tears away, and sniffled.
I rubbed my forehead, and spoke, "Not to make you feel worse mom, but Carly is mad at you. She's annoyed you didn't let us spend some time with dad before leaving."
Mom nodded, and said, "I know, it's just he got me fired up. Tomorrow I'll let you girls go see him."
That put a smile on my face, and I gave my mom a hug before zooming upstairs to tell Carly. Of course, what we saw the next day shattered my mom completely.
