An explosion, rain, blood, and them.
I blinked calmly enough, enough of that dream had awaken me. Sit up, the command was simple in my head but my limbs did not want to move. Sit. up. Blinking twice more I managed the movement. I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, shivering. The warehouse provided little heat in the New York winter. I was back to square one, the restart of the day droning on endlessly, waiting for a death never to come. I had lived to many lives for one woman to behold, to long being, looking an age far to young for my years. But still, I did not know who I was, I only knew them.
Breath, I sucked in a cold breath and breathed slowly out. My focus was returning and soon the sun would rise and the red would bleed. I grabbed the orange lens glasses off of the wooden planked floor and put them on, standing as the ice like floor pierced my feet. I opened my eyes taking another deep breath, I put on the waitress uniform. Wages were low but pay was nothing to live here.
I grabbed the old brown trench coat and hat off the floor and put them on, Jim thankfully had given me them. The blind African American who could see me, who told me who they were. And now life continues, and will not end for me, a daughter of eternity. Breath, I sucked in another deep breath and lifted my hands. I felt the heat and I screamed and fell to the floor on my knees.
An explosion, rain, blood, and them.
Still, I could not use it without burning up. I shook and felt like my insides were on fire. the cold was forgotten. Maybe I would die after all. Using fire to kill, ironic how it kills me. "Balance..." I whispered, "I need balance." I had known that that was what I needed to survive, but my will was all but shattered after they slaughtered Jim, slaughtered anyone there. And I killed them. And I burned up. My unnatural abilities contradicting the abilities to take abilities from people and input emotions and abilities. I was the destruction created by them. Fire with no balance only destroys. And off with my slowly burning body I went, the day was here and a time would come when everyone around me would die.
