*Carly's POV*
I awoke the next morning to Madelyn pouncing on me. Today was the day we went to see dad! We each picked out an outfit, and shared the bathroom to get dressed and ready. We were ecstatic, even if we just saw him last night. We had finished, and it was around 9:30am, kind of early. We tip-toed down the stairs, but mom was already awake and sitting on the couch, legs crossed and her phone in her hands.
"What are you doing mom?" Madelyn asked, and she raised her head.
"Playing Minecraft, get my mind off him," she said, and frantically tapped her screen.
I went over and sat down next to her, and laid my head on her shoulder and watched her Minecraft character dodge skeletons. Madelyn came over and sat down on the other side of her, and together we watched her play Minecraft. Once she had died for the thousandth time, she went back to her home screen and turned off her phone.
"I'm gonna go get a shower girls, sit tight!" mom said, and headed to the bathroom. Madelyn and I sat in an awkward silence, almost an annoying one. What seemed like forever, mom had come out, dressed, and her hair was wet. She came back and sat down with us, and she was still. Crossing her legs, she sighed, and picked up her phone.
"Your dad texted me, he's up and ready to see you girls, want to go?" mom asked, and we jumped up.
She grabbed the car keys and we headed out of the house. Madelyn and I hopped in the back seat, and mom up front. We were finally going to see dad!
-1 hour later-
Finally we had arrived at dad's house. As we walked up the porch steps, I noticed another car was in the driveway. Maybe it was Jason or someone.
"He said unlock the door on our own," mom said, fiddling with her keys until she found the right one.
When she opened the door, a loud gasp came from her. We saw exactly what she saw, and our jaws fell open. There was dad, and two slutty-looking girls. Mom was flabbergasted.
"SO THIS IS WHAT YOU DO A DAY AFTER WE BREAK UP?" mom screamed.
Dad looked at her, and said,
"Dawn, it's not what you think, please!"'
I could tell he was lying. Mom pulled us back, and looked dad straight into the eyes, tears sliding down her cheeks. All she did was say,
"Adam, I thought I could trust you. Not now, and not ever. Let's go girls.'
We gave our dad a why-would-you-hurt-mom-like-that look, and she closed the door. I thought I could've gone see my dad, hang out, and no problems. I was wrong, he was apparently either desperate or didn't care about us. This was it, no more dad. I wondered if I was still allowed to see the team.
