Chapter Three: We Need Answers

As Ezri guided Zephr down a long corridor, she began to explain the reason he was here, " It's all about answers, the Leader wants to know what's going on as much as all of us. And judging by the fact you weren't eaten alive when the demon saw you, I know you will have to shed some light on that." 

"Well," began Zephr " It all started when Vex wa-" Ezri covered his mouth, "Don't tell me, I will find out soon enough' save your breath for someone who isn't quite as open to the idea of a demon apocalypse." She said sarcastically

Zephr looked up at the colossal steel door in awe, never before had he seen such a unique way to guard a leader. Ezri unlocked the door with a key that was hidden around her neck and pushed it open a crack, just enough for them to get inside.  "Leader, I have arrived with a witness who I believe knows the origin of the red sky." Barked Ezri. "Very well, come in and we will... Discuss the problem." Replied The leader.

"So, I have a few questions for you.. Uhh.." Said the leader "Z-Zephr, my name is Zephr"  replied Zephr.   "Hmm what an odd name for such a gifted Fire Mage, you would have thought a name that means gentle breeze would be given to a Gale Archer." The leader remarked. "Well, I was born into the Gale tribe, but my parents were attacked by a pack of Kyubi, my mother managed to get away, and we were found two days later by fire tribe refugees who took us back  to their camp, they began to teach me fire magic and soon enough we had made a new life. " Replied Zephr. "And what of your father?" Asked the leader. Zephr looked at the ground, "We found his body at the bottom of a cliff with gashes and bite marks all over him."

"Oh, I'm sorry for bringing it up... However we still have business to attend to. I need to know why the sky is red and why demons from all over the realms are gathering in one place. Remarked the leader. "R-right." Said Zephr. [Zephr explained the whole story, from the fight with the Kyubi's to when Ezri saved him and Vex] "And the rest is history." 

"So, if what you say is true, then Orochi plans to steal the power of the elements from their guardians." Said Ezri "Which also means the leader is in danger, Orochi will come here and wipe out the entire camp to find the guardian." Replied Zephr.

Then we are going to bring the fight to him, we can't let the lives of thousands of innocent people go to waste." Said the leader.   "No! Exclaimed Ezri. "Leader, you mustn't allow him to steal the element from you, if he does the realm, no the EARTH, will be destroyed. Give the element to me and I will run, it won't be enough, but it will surely buy you some ti-"  "AND LET MY DAUGHTER BE TORN APART BY DEMONS?!" Screamed the leader, "No, I would rather die then ever live with the guilt."

"Then what do we do?" Said Ezri. "How are we supposed to keep out Orochi without losing the lives of hundreds of soldiers?"

"Well, I have an answer to THAT!" -???
