Prologue

(At the Pokémon League)

The sly trainer smiled in her victory as Aerodactyl, her opponent's last Pokémon, fell to the ground and fainted. ''Well, well. Congratulations. You're now the new Pokémon Champion. Oh, you would have been, if your rival hadn't beaten you to it!'' Lance said. The trainer smirked at him, but didn't say anything. ''Yo, Skylar! So you've made it, too? I'm very surprised. You came here to battle for the title, is that right?'' a voice said. The current Pokémon Champion walked in. ''Blue. I see you're the new champion. This is unacceptable.'' Skylar said in a bored voice, glancing at Blue. ''Ha! You can't accept that I won against you, right?'' Blue taunted. ''For the first time.'' she pointed out. ''Finally, after all this time, after fourteen years of our endless rivalry, I have finally defeated you, my rival, Skylar the Smirk!'' Blue cheerfully said. Skylar gritted her teeth and glared at him.

''I don't want the title. But I want to battle you! Two on two, go, Raticate!''

''Two on two? Alright! Arcanine, I choose you!''

Skylar glared so much at Blue that as soon as his pokémon appeared, she yelled in anger. ''HYPER FANG!'' With a flash Raticate attacked the opposing pokémon, who fainted instantly. ''I didn't even get the chance to attack!'' Blue protested. ''Arcanine, return! Blastoise, it's your time to shine!'' Blue commanded. Skylar never took her eyes off Blue. ''Raticate, excellent. Return. Charizard, go.''

A Charizard and a Blastoise appeared. The trainer and the champion stared at each other, waiting to for the first attack. Finally, Skylar couldn't stand the tension anymore.

''FLAMETHROWER!''

Blue was surprised by the shout that he didn't even see the flames hit his Blastoise, but instead only saw the fainted pokémon lying on the floor.

Blue dropped his jaw in shock. He'd never expected his rival's pokémon to grow this strong. Even though he never won a single battle against her, he was surprised that even when he became the champion he still couldn't beat her.

''That's right, Blue. You may be the champion but can't still beat me.'' Skylar said and returned Charizard to its Poké Ball. Her arms were folded across her chest and she smirked with confidence. ''Congratulations, on your victory against me. I'm glad to say that I've really enjoyed that battle.''

''Well, you won against me, so that makes you that new Pokémon Champion, Your Highness.'' Blue said and frowned.

''Well, but I don't want to.'' Skylar said.

Lance stared at the girl.

This girl, the rival of the former champion, doesn't want the title? How could she not accept it? he thought.

''Sorry Skylar, but whether you like it or not, rules are the rules.''

''Fine. I'll take it then. Oh, and Blue? That battle that you just lost to me? It might be your last.'' she said.

In her hand was a Master Ball.

''Unlike you, I have caught legendary pokémon. They're not easy to catch, more or less make friends with them, but this one's really special.''

She released the pokémon and a large, giant, ghostly dragon-like pokémon appeared.

It has 6 legs, gold protrusions that look like external ribs, and golden horns on its head. Its neck has five red stripes and 4 black stripes.

''Meet my friend, Giratina.''
