Chapter 8
Sarah's POV
After running around, I couldn't remember where our bus was. Even though I was probably right in front of it ten times. I just sat against a random bus and put my head in my hands.
"Jesus Fucking Christ" I mumbled, as I wiped my face and realised I was crying. "Who's there" came a joking voice from the other side of the bus. "Oh no" I mumbled trying to get up to run before they would see me, but it was to late. Austin had already walked around the bus and seen me. "Sarah! Hey babe, whats up-Oh my God! Baby what happened?!" he gasped as he saw my face streaked with tears and my blood shot eyes. "Nothing, don't worry about it" I mumbled, trying to push past him. "No come on, let's go inside." he picked me up easily before carrying me inside the bus.
He sat me down on the couch and sat across from me. I just started down at my hands. "Sarah..." he said cautiously, "Please tell me what happened." he begged. "I-I-I" I tried to start talking but I just broke down, my body shaking with sobs. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, Sarah calm down now, deep breath" he reached forward and pulled me into his arms, slowly rubbing my back. "I-I was eating and and the same g-girl from yesterday came over and she-she-she" I stuttered trying to explain. "What did she do" his grip on me tightening. "She just told me I'm not good enough, that I'm not pretty, and-and-and that I bug the guys to much, and I need to lose 50 pounds because I offend everyone with my weight" I whispered. "Who told you that" I heard another voice on the bus. You've got to be kidding me, who would come at a moment like this other then Alan freaking Ashby.
"I uh Alan it's not important, Austin don't worry about it, it's okay the girl was right and I'm okay its fine-" I started rambling, but Alan cut me off. "Sarah Fuentes, don't you dare think that about your self," he started. Making my cheeks heat up. Alan must have thought it was because of he crying but Austin noticed right away and he started smirking at me. "You are a beautiful girl and you're honestly so sweet and kind and any one who thinks differently is obviously a fucking idiot" he smiled at me, I smiled shyly back at him. "Thanks Alan" "No problem kitten" he laughed using the nick name he gave when he first met me a long, long time ago. "Now come on," he motioned me to follow him. "Your brothers' set starts in twenty minutes and they'll freak if you're not there" he laughed with me as I started to follow him off the bus.
"Wait Sarah!" Austin called, causing me to turn around as he pulled me into a bear hug. "Everything Alan said is 100% true, I love you lil sis. Don't let anyone ever tell you different, oh and it's cute you like Alan" he teased causing my eyes to grow wide and a blush to appear on my face. The sight made him laugh loudly, then he whispered "Your brother only told me but don't worry I won't tell anyone" he smiled. "Uh ok" I mumbled before giving him a small smile and running out of the bus to follow Alan.
"So what have you been up to lately" he asked, glancing down at me walking beside him. "Oh nothing really I've been pretty sick..." I trailed off not sure what to say. "You've been sick?!" "Yeah...?" "Oh my God and here I am making you walk!" "Wait what are you talking abo-" I started but I couldn't finish my sentence though as he threw me over his shoulder. "Alan!" I laughed loudly as he started speed walking. "Yes my lady" "Oh my God" I laughed with him as he wouldn't put me down. "I can walk, I promise" "No! No kitten of mine is going to walk in the heat while she's had a bad day and is sickly!" he laughed carrying me up the back stairs of the main stage.
I quickly caught view of Tony smirking at me and I realized what was going to happen. He quickly told the others to look our way as Alan carried me over his shoulder all the way to where they were standing back stage. "There you go my lady" he said dramatically, setting me down. I was greeted by four smirks and my already blushing face turned a deeper red as I stared at my shoes. "Hey man thanks for bringing her here" Vic laughed giving Alan a bro hug. "No prob she was at our bus with Austin and I knew you would want her here" he smiled at me causing butterflies to go crazy in my stomach. "Ahhh I see" Mike laughed.
"Well I gotta go get my guitar stuff put away, we played like 30 minutes ago" Alan smiled. "Oh Well are you gonna be at the mini get together thingy?" Tony asked, smirking at me. "Yeah I will be" he smiled "I'll see you guys then" and with that Alan jogged away leaving me with the boys and ten minutes to talk. "So" Jaime smirked, putting an arm around my shoulders. "Getting him to carry you around now huh" he winked at me. "No, no, no, I-uh, he just picked me up and talked about how I was sick and shouldn't be walking" I rushed out. "Sure" Mike laughed. "Hun your face is so red" Vic laughed, motioning to his own face. "Oh Gosh" I mumbled shoving my face into Jaimes chest. "That's what Alan does to her" Tony teased, "She gets flustered" "Oh my God" I laughed, "Don't you have a show to do?" "Yes indeed we do little sister" "Indeed?" I laughed at Vic's choice of words. "Shut up Mrs. Ashby" Vic laughed pulling me into a big bear hug. "Ewwww! Boy germs!" I squirmed to get away from him. "That's not what you were saying when your boyfriend was carrying you" Mike winked as he picked up his drum sticks. "Oh my God he's not my boyfriend" I blushed. "Awww whittle baby blushing" Jaime pinched my cheeks teasing me. "Guyssss" I groaned, causing them all to laugh as they picked up their instruments.
"Sarah get over here" Vic motioned as I joined the circle. The boys started chanting, "Hey Vic" "Wha" "The Devil" "Oh" "The Devil is everywhereeee" and this continued around till it got to me. "Hey Sarah" "Sí?!" "Alan Ashby" "Wait what" I said suddenly confused "Your boyfriend is over thereeeee" they laughed, as we ended with the "P-T-V!" "Oh my gosh you guys" I shook my head. "We're going on!" Vic laughed before running on stage, Jaime, Tony and Mike following. The guys put on a wicked show, as usual, and were about to play their closing song, Bulls in the Bronx, when I saw a sight that made me sick to my stomach. The same chick that had harassed me for the last two days was standing right in the front against the barriers.
I managed to get Tonys attention before they started playing and motioned that I was leaving. He looked confused but nodded at me before I turned and ran to our bus. I crawled in my bunk and just felt like I wanted to shrivel up and disappear.
Now this might seem extreme to some, but when I was on tour with the guys, it was the only time I felt safe. I was always bullied at school and when I was out around our town by my "friends". And of course every single comment would be followed by a "I'm just kidding! Gosh take a joke". I've suffered from things like almost developing eating disorders. I say almost because the guys knew what was going on almost immediately and watched me very closely. They helped me through so much, no matter what. But what if I really was just a huge burden to them?
Now my anxiety was kicking in as it felt like my safe haven wasn't so safe anymore
