Why is the saying "reach for the stars"?
There are so many more interesting things out there in the Universe than simply fiery balls of gas.
There's planets and galaxies and supernovas and nebulas.
There could be new elements, new species, any number of possibilities.
Beyond these stars there might be even more than simply things.
We could find fear, adventure, and surprise.
There might be hope and love and loss.
Maybe there's fire, ice, light and darkness, or even unimaginable rage or incomprehensible happiness.
And yet we simply limit ourselves to the stars.

and my face lingers behind your eyes.

To what just might have been.

MOTHER SAYS
Mother always said that boy was

she had said.

eleven years we were so close to so much. love was predictable like that.
but i was good for him.

"he doesn't have a handle on his mind. you can't fix everyone, dear"
she still says.
i refuse to listen. you are too much for yourself to manage alone, just as i am too much for me. your broken fits and matches my own. i do not know if i love you.
