Ya know, the one thing I hate about a new school is that you have to start over. Like honestly, I worked too hard to build up my social standing. Now I gotta do it again? What has the world come to? I think I'm gonna write a letter to the government and have them change this. Well at least I would if I wasn't a Rogue.

You probably don't know what a Rogue is do you? Well it was a name given to us when the world first found out of our existence. Back in the old days, before Xbox One, before Kim Kardashians butt, way back in the 90's. So yea, there is some history for you to take in.

The first Rogue that the world saw was not a good one. He kinda evaporated 200 innocent people in Los Angeles. Its too bad he couldn't evaporate the bullet that blew his head off almost immediately after the massacre. As you can see, Mr. Evaporator over there gave us Rogues a bad name. Speaking of bad name why the heck are we called Rogues? Whos dumb idea was that? Alright enough with the rants, lets get into my story.

*Ring Ring Ring*

The sound of my alarm clock echoes through my crowded room. I slowly move towards the alarm clock, but like usual it shut down and started smoking.

"Man, that's the third one this week. New record, good job Jay."

I walk out of my room, down the stairs, and into the kitchen. My smoking alarm clock rests in my hands.

"Are you kidding me Jay? I just bought that two days ago, and its already broken! What do you do to these poor things?" Said my mom as she was making her coffee.

"Ya know mom, I think I just push the snooze button too hard. I'll try to gently tap the button when I get a new alarm clock."

I look at the clock, 6:45 am. It was almost time to head out for the first day of freshman year.

"Mom?"

My mom turns around and takes a sip of her coffee.

"Yes Jay?" She replies.

I take a deep breath. I know the answer is going to end in a warning.

"Uh, would you mind making breakfast today? Im already running late. I want to make a good first impression, so I need to be on time."

A few seconds go by and she finally responds.

"Ugh fine Jay. But Im warning you, this is the last time Im going to make breakfast for you! Someday Im going to be gone and you will have to take care of yourself."

I nod my head like I usually do when she gives that warning. I walk back up stairs and into my room. I find the outfit my mom left out for me and put it on. Its 6:50 now and the bus leaves in a few minutes.

I run down the stairs where a plate of plain pancakes sits waiting for me. I run by, grab the pancakes, hug my mom, and run out of the house.

The bus stop is only two streets away, and I had little time. I run down the street as fast as I could, pancakes hanging from the mouth and backpack barely on. But just when things couldn't get anymore embarrassing, I saw Sara James. Sara James has been my crush since kindergarten when I helped her color in a picture of a giraffe.

Sara is sitting with her two friends on a bench. Of course they are here to see my lowest moment of self respect, thats just my luck.

"Oh, hey Jay!" Sara is smiling as she speaks, I can tell she is holding back laughter.

I quickly finish the pancakes and straighten myself out.

"Hey Sara, hows it going?" She must've thought I ran a marathon because I was drenched in sweat.

"Im good, I had a pretty good summer. How about yourself? What'd you do this Summer?" Responds Sara.

"Well you know, same old same old. Broke two phones by accident, slept, ate. You know how that goes." I say.

"Well Jay, I can only relate to two out of three of what you just said."

Sara laughs. Her friends just look at me like Im crazy, then they go back to their morning streaks on Snapchat.

The bus finally arrives, its almost empty. There was an empty seat in the middle of the bus, so I decided to sit there.

The bus stops one more time and three kids get on. One of them, a fairly large boy with glasses and a Halo 5 t-shirt catches my eye. He sees me and begins walking towards me. We have a brief moment of eye contact, then he sits next to me.

"Hi there, Im Connor Holland. Im new in town."

He puts out his hand, waiting for me to shake it. Im hesitant but still do it.

"Ow, you shocked me." Connor says in pain.

"Im sorry Connor, Im prone to shocking people." I respond nervously.

He pauses for a second.

"Nah man, Thats so cool! Its like your an electricity controlling Rogue or something!" He speaks enthusiastically.

In my mind I'm thinking "Who sent you?", and "How'd you know my secret?". But I knew it was just coinsedance.

"No no, Im just your average 15 year old. Not a rogue, if I was I wouldn't be here right now. You and me both know that.

"Thats true. Anyways whats your name? I totally forgot to ask." Says Connor.

"Wilbur, Jay Wilbur. But you can call me Jay."

As you can see Ive been watching way too much 007. But man that felt good saying.

After about a ten minute bus ride, we finally arrived at school. I get off the bus, and Connor and I go our separate ways (for now).

I walk through the main doors, and the chaos begins. Students scrambling, trying to find their homerooms. Teachers trying to take attendance. Papers and supplies spilling on the floor.

"Welcome to High School. You're going to be spending 4 years here." I say to myself.
