The topic of the day was the epic party ruining at the party last night. Apparently things went crazy after I left and a crap ton of kids got arrested. Not to mention the trouble that Connie got in. Let's just say I don't have to worry about her rumors anymore.
School went by normally. I sat through my classes and noticed Zach was not present in most of our classes. After school I was at my locker organizing my books for Monday. I was rudely interrupted by an idiot jumping on my locker door.
I sighed and turn to look at him, "what do you want Zach?"
"There's a party tonight and you should come." I slam the door not caring if his fingers got caught or not. "And why would I ever dedicate my Friday night to a party?" I asked walking off. "You can't stay cooped up forever, Dani." He said walking up next to me. I look up at him shocked, "Since when do you care about my social life?"
"Since it started being beneficial to me." He put his hands in his pockets and smirked. "I don't even want to know how it will be beneficial." I said and started walking away as we got outside. "You can count me out. Go find another girl to bother on a Friday night. I'm sure they'll swoon all over you." I said turning around to look at you. "Later loser." I said turning back around and giving him a small wave.
I walked to my car and got in. I started it up and hooked my phone up turning on my playlist. One of my favorite songs came on and I turned the volume up and started singing along. I decided to go to the mall and walk around for a bit.
I really only have like three friends so I don't hang out with people very much. So I normally do things alone but it's fine with me. I got out of the car and walked into the mall. I walked around a movie store and picked up a new movie.
I then decided to go to the food court and get a cookie or something. I was waiting in line when I heard someone call my name. I turned around and saw my friend Claire.
Claire is tall with beach blonde hair that always seems to be perfect. Claire is what you would call a hippie of sorts. Her family are the greenest people I've ever met. Seriously they save their food scraps for compost. They're all vegetarians and grow all their food at home which had to be hard considering they live in the suburbs. I went to sleep over one night when I was a kid and we slept in a tent outside because they said the nature would purify our souls that were stressed with the outcome of city life. I still don't get it but whatever they're pretty cool.
"Hey Claire." I smiled and waved. She walked up and stood in line with me. "You should have texted me you were coming to the mall, Dani." She said laughing a little. "Sorry it was a quick decision." I smiled. I ordered a cookie and she got a smoothie. We sat down and talked for a bit then went to some stores.
She held a dress up to her and turned to look at me. "What do you think? Is it my color?" It was short a flowy. It was cream with most of her clothes were.
"It looks nice. You should try it on." I went back to looking through the rack that was next to me.
"So have you found a dress for prom yet?" She asked looking with me. I laughed a little and looked over at her. "What makes you think I'm going to prom?" I asked. "What? You have to. It will be our first prom." I rolled my eyes. "You know I don't like dances. It's not my scene." I walked over to another rack. "Is it because you can't find a date?" She walked over with me. "Why would I want a date? If I'm going to prom I'm going with you." I looked over at her and smirked. "Oh I would be so honored to walk in hand in hand with you. Are we getting matching dresses?" She asked smiling. "No but seriously, is it because you can't get a date?" She asked. "I don't need a date." I said looking over at her. "That's exactly what someone who needs a date would say." She grabbed my shoulders and looked eye to eye with me.
"Well what about you? Do you have a date?" I asked. She let go and started looking through the clothes again. "I'm thinking of asking that new girl, Bree. We've been talking a lot lately and guess what?" She turned to look at me. "What?"
"She's bi. So I'm taking this chance and asking her to prom." She smiled. I laughed a little. "Well go for it. And if she says no we can stay at my place and watch movies all night." She laughed and went to go try on some clothes.
I looked around the store to find something that wasn't very expensive. I then saw Zach comparing two pairs of shoes. "Hey loser." I walked over. He turned to look at me and smirked. "Crawling back to me already?" I roll my eyes. "You wish." I looked at the shoes he had in his hands. One was a pair of gold sparkling heels the other was a pair of black heels. "You trying to impress a boy or something?" I asked pointing to the heels. He looked down at them and laughed a little. "My sisters birthday I next week. I'm trying to find something decent." I grabbed them out of his hands and looked at them. I then handed him the black heels. "Here she'll like these ones. She can wear them with almost every outfit." He grabbed them and thanked me. "So what are you doing in a store like this?" He started walking to the cash register and I walked with him. "This is Claire's favorite store."
"That hot blonde girl who moved down the street from Florida?" I rolled my eyes and nodded. "Is she still single?" I laughed a little. "Good luck with her. I don't think you could charm her even if you wanted to." He set the shoes on the counter at the checkout area. "Why's that?" He turned to look at me. "She's gay idiot." I smirked and smiled when the lady rang up the shoes. Zach payed and walked with me back over to the dressing rooms to wait for Claire.
"Why are you waiting here with me again?" I asked. "My parents think I'm staying after school and studying. I decided to hang out at the mall for a bit but since you guys are here I'll spend the rest of day messing with you guys." He smirked and rolled my arms and crossed my arms. "Well I still hate you."
Claire walked out and jumped a little when she saw Zach. "He'll be spending the rest of the day with us." I said. She smiled. "That's fine." She payed for her clothes with and we walked around a bit more. Claire had to go after a while so it was just me and Zach.
We walked around but then decided to go to a sports store a friend of ours works at. We walked in and Zach jumped up and say on the checkout counter where our friend, Cameron was standing.
"Dani hanging out with Zach? Well that sure is a new sight." He said sarcastically. "Yeah well he decided to follow me around and be a pest." Said walking behind the counter and sitting in a chair. "Hey," Zach turned around. "I'm not a pest I'm a joy." I rolled my eyes and Cam laughed a little and helped a customer.
"So you bailed the party?" He turned to Zach when he finished. "Yeah I'm in deep with the cops right now because of last night." He laughed a little. "And for some reason you have all the top grades in our class." I said looking up at him crossing my arms. Can laughed a little and helped another customer. "So, Zach, convince a girl to go to prom with you yet?" Cam asked. "Ha ha ha" Zach said sarcastically. "And no I don't need a date."
"Ha" I said sarcastically. He turned to look at me and glared. "What's so wrong with that?""You going to prom without a date is like a moody teenager going out without their phone. It just doesn't happen." I said. "Well do you have a date?" He asked. "I'm not going."
"Really why?" Cam asked. "Prom isn't my thing I'd much rather be at home watching a movie or something." I shrugged. "What about you?" I asked him. He blushed a little and rubbed the back of his head. "I'm going but I haven't asked the girl out yet. I'm waiting for the right time you know." I nod. "Who is it?" Zach asked. "I'm not saying." He said and helped a customer.
We talked for another hour then Cam's shift ended and I started walking to my car. "Hey can you give me a ride home?" Zach asked. "Why would I do that?" I turn to look up at him. "Because you love me. Besides I took a ride and I've got no way of getting home." I opened the door to my car and smirked. "Well I guess you're walking then huh?" I got in and closed the door and drove off. I looked in the mirror and saw him standing there upset with his hands in my pocket and I laughed a little. Idiot.
