He stood over a blank field, his blonde hair rippling in the wind. The man watched as an army approached, their worn armour and rusty weapons betraying their leader's inability to prepare. His eyes searched the hoard of soldiers and landed on the flag bearer, a short, stocky man who looked about nineteen. Lifting his bow, he drew an elegantly crafted arrow and let it fly. It pierced the flag bearer's armour and drove straight into the man's heart. As he jumped down from the high cliff top he stood on, his death seemed unavoidable, but a pair of wings suddenly unfurled and the blonde man soared down, gently alighting on the grassy expanse. He fired arrows into the army until his quiver was empty and then took off, flying well above the soldiers. He landed in front of another army. This one was much smaller, but their armour was completely unscathed and their glinting weapons radiated craftsmanship. "Troops, it is time to attack!" He called, before leaping onto a horse and leading the charge towards their foes.

As they neared the opposing army, he drew a long silver sword and, letting loose a battle cry, swung the sword, killing three soldiers. His troops followed suit, and before long they had massacred the entire army. Only one of his soldiers had been killed, but even one death was a great loss to the blonde Angel. Staring at the blood soaked field, the Angel failed to notice the creature creeping up to him until it was too late. The beast, invisible to the mortals under the Angel's command, was a hulking, mutilated thing. It was cloaked in shadows, but the writhing limbs beneath were visible. It had at least ten flailing limbs, all covered in spikes and ending in a large, clawed paw. It's torso was hidden, but thick, muscular legs supported the monster, which had a big reptilian head that vaguely resembled a crocodile's. Horns protruded from its forehead, and it used these to skewer the Angel, before ripping off his wings with two of its barbed tentacles. A deep, menacing voice resonated within the Angel's head. "Revenge," it said, "has finally been delivered. You killed my mate. YOU. SHALL. PAY." And with that final, ominous message, the creature disembowelled its victim, radiating a sadistic pleasure as the Angel's intestines spilled out onto the cold, damp ground, ending his life.

I bolted upright, trembling in horror and let out a yelp as my head connected with something hard. I lifted a hand to rub it. At least, that was what I intended to do, but a thick chain pinned my hands down. A quick glance at my legs revealed that they were also bound. I looked up at Will, who was pressing a tissue to his bloody nose and raised an eyebrow. I attempted to ask why I was tied down but only managed a painful croak before shutting my mouth, wincing at the sudden pain that accompanied talking. "You screamed until your throat was raw." Will said. "You were also thrashing around uncontrollably. We tied you down after you accidentally hit Frank in the, well let's just say a...painful area to be hit in." I blushed before looking at him in confusion. It took him a few moments to catch on but a look of realisation passed across his gorgeous features. Wait what? Gorgeous? Since when did I? Oh. Oh no. I don't, I can't, have a crush on Will. He's way too good for me. Trying to squander these feelings I looked up at the son of Apollo, who was talking to me. "Hazel, Frank, and lots of other Romans arrived at camp a few hours ago. Reyna couldn't come because she had to run the camp and watch the campers who didn't come here." Will looked up as one of his sisters came up to him and gave him something. He thanked her before turning back to me. "That was Kayla. I asked her to fetch a notebook and a pen for you so you can communicate." {A/N Nico writing will be in ' '} 'How long was I out?' I wrote, showing Will the page. "Two days." he said. A knock on the door interrupted anything he was about to say. "Come in." He called.

Hazel and Frank entered the room. "Nico! You're awake!" She squealed, running over to hug me. Frank walked over more casually and sat in the plastic chair next to my bed. After releasing me, Hazel looked around for a place to sit. Seeing that there were no other chairs and that there was no room to sit on the bed, Frank began to stand. "No, no. It's ok, don't give up your seat!" Hazel said. "I'll just, umm, sit on your knee?" She said, blushing furiously and fanning herself. Frank was also blushing but made no attempt to stop her as she walked over and perched on his knee. Will chuckled slightly before leaving to check on his other patients. I watched him leave before looking over at Hazel. "You like him, don't you?" She asked, although it came out more like a statement than a question. I felt blood rush to my cheeks and grabbed my cloak hood, pulling it further down my face. "Not now." I muttered. She giggled before moving on to other topics, like how beautiful New Rome was and how wonderful Frank was. As she chattered away about their most recent date at a small coffee shop in New Rome, Frank gingerly wrapped his arms around her. I smiled wistfully at the two of them as Hazel blushed and snuggled into his chest. Eventually, they left and I fell into a deep dreamless sleep.
