Psalms 21

243 9 2

You can probably give me a notebook filled with blessings God has given you. Just having the freedom for you to read this and for me to write it is one. Every breath you take is another. The people the surround you in your everyday life- no matter how much you like or dislike them- are blessings.

While we all know that he has given us countless blessings of various sorts, have you ever considered how much you have blessed Him?

Well, according to scripture, we "have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence." [vs 6]

Notice that last part, as well.. "given him the joy of your presence."

Does that not just fill you with an unexplainable feeling?!? (I wish I had a better way to describe it, but I just have no other way to word it.) He finds joy being in your presence! He has been blessed by you!

I don't know about you but it makes me feel insanely loved, wanted, important, special, AHH!!

I just wanna yell and shout all this stuff I'm feeling and trying to express to you in words, but I can't! Haha, I feel SO STRONGLY about this that I just can't even fathom how awesome I feel every time I read this Psalm!!!!

I really want to encourage you all to READ THIS PSALM. (I will be putting it at the end of this devotional!) If you are feeling really bad about yourself, or you just really want a pick-me-up, READ IT!

Honestly, when I first started writing this devotional, I didn't expect to be feeling this strongly, but as I started studying the word and trying to write this, I guess the Lord's presence just came over me. I honestly don't know how to explain it. I'm just really lost for words to describe this. Maybe y'all will feel that way about it after you read it, too. Maybe not. Maybe you feel that way about a certain verse. Maybe you haven't experienced this yet... I don't know! But I really hope that sometime in your Christian walk, you get to experience it.

(I got off topic, oops. Lol, but still.)

Psalms 21 NLT

1 How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord! He shouts with joy because you give him victory. 2 For you have given him his heart's desire; you have withheld nothing he requested. Interlude  3 You welcomed him back with success and prosperity. You placed a crown of finest gold on his head. 4 He asked you to preserve his life, and you granted his request. The days of his life stretch on forever. 5 Your victory brings him great honor, and you have clothed him with splendor and majesty. 6 You have endowed him with eternal blessings and given him the joy of your presence. 7 For the king trusts in the Lord. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling. 8 You will capture all your enemies. Your strong right hand will seize all who hate you. 9 You will throw them in a flaming furnace when you appear. The Lord will consume them in his anger; fire will devour them. 10 You will wipe their children from the face of the earth; they will never have descendants. 11 Although they plot against you, their evil schemes will never succeed. 12 For they will turn and run when they see your arrows aimed at them. 13 Rise up, O Lord, in all your power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.
