It was the last class of the day and she was urging for it to end sooner. In 15 minutes the bell would ring and she would be on her way where Harry was destined to pick her up. She sat in her English class not paying attention to what her teachers had to say, she was too busy thinking about Harry. He was growing in her chest and she felt like she couldn't breathe. The bell rung and she vigorously pushed her stuff in her bag and walked out. She waved occasionally to her friends she saw in the hall but never stopped to talk, she didn't want to because all she wanted right now was to see
Harry.

She was outside now searching for the yellow car he owned that looked like the sun. She took a seat on a bench that was near the school buses and looked around. Soon all the school buses were gone and she was alone left alone, minutes felt like hours and it made her question if he was going to come or not. She felt wretched knowing that it was getting too late. She had decided that she would take the next public bus to come home. Mandy waited for the bus until the infamous yellow Chrysler parked in front of her. She was furious anc she wanted to cry. She opened the door and sat on the passenger seat, she crossed her arms and looked at him angrily. "Where were you?"

He wanted to laugh but he knew if he did she would be even more angry and he didn't want that. " There was traffic okay? Don't get so worked up." He cracked a small laugh afterwards which did make her blood boil even more. "What's so fucking funny? I looked like a dumb ass waiting for you." He let her finish her  speech, "It's the 70's sweetheart, there's no way I could've told you I was going to be running late." She became silent, he was right. The only form of communication at the moment were house phones or letters. "Sorry, I'm just really dumb and always jump to conclusions." she felt bad for being mad at him for no reason, he didn't need to deal with her no sense but he did for a reason. He could've kicked her to the curb but he didn't. Instead he started the car and drove back on the road

He turned the radio on and turned it up when KISS came on. "You really like hardcore rock don't you?" she asked. He really did, his closet was filled with band t-shirt and other dark clothing gave the stereotype of his music taste. He just nodded and tapped his fingers to the rhythm on the steering wheel. "What are you into?" Harry wondered, probably disco he thought. "Right now I really like The Beatles, Todd Rundgren, Fleetwood Mac, and a little bit of Zeppelin." He thought wrong, "I love Zeppelin, I got to meet them a while back the radio station I work at, it was the best experience ever hands down." Mandy knew he was cool, knowing that he worked at a radio station made him even more cooler to her. "What radio station do you work for?"

"I work for 105.5 NYC, it plays rock 24 hours a day the best job I could ever ask for." She couldn't look away from him. He left her in complete awe sometimes. What was a guy like him who basically had it all taking a boring town girl like her out on a date? He could have any girl he wanted but he was out with a 16-year old girl who was still in high school.

Harry finally got the chance to look at the girl next to him she looked so sweet and so beautiful. She wore a yellow turtleneck that was fitted to perfection, a black, yellow, red, and orange plaid skirt that rested on her mid-thigh, yellow knee socks, and simple black leather shoes. Her black hair stopped right on her chest, her skin a soft tan. He was so hypnotized by her looks. If he wasn't driving he would just want to stare at her forever, to block out the rest of the world and for it to just be the two of them.

Mandy had already analyzed Harry, his hair was slicked back in his curly quiff like usual, a blue t-shirt with yellow cuffs on his sleeves and neck hugged his torso, his usual denim jeans and white tennis shoes. His sense of style was so ordinary compared to his features and she would never get used to it. "Do you wanna go catch a burger and a shake?" Harry asked. "Sure, I know just the place! I'll tell you how to get there." Mandy gave him the directions and Harry drove to the destination. He drove into the parking lot for a fast food restaurant called Benny's Burgers. The sign in front of the store was a cow holding up the restaurant's name as a poster with his front feet, it was actually quite funny to Harry.

They sat in a booth near the entrance, finishing up their shakes, their burgers already gone. "Why do you talk to me?" Mandy asked. She had wondered that since the night of the party when he came up to stop her from drinking so much beer. Harry furrowed his eyebrows at the unexpected question. He was silent for a bit, thinking of an answer then he finally spoke, "I talk to you because I like you. You're outgoing and so shy at the same time, you're brave and are fun to be around because you're so willing to do anything. That's why I talk to you. You're beautiful."

His words had sucked out voice. She was completely speechless. No one had ever said anything about her like that especially coming from someone of the different sex. Sure her friends would compliment her once in a while, but she would never hear any from a boy. Mandy got up from her side of the booth and sat next to him. She leaned in and kissed his cheek then his jawline. She pulled away and smiled, "Thank you," Mandy spoke softly. "For coming into my life, you're truly an angel sent from heaven."
