Sam cheered as Mr. Schue announced the next glee club assignment. He would obviously sing a duet with Blaine. Well, once he got out of the bathroom. As everyone got up to choose their partners, a loud sound, followed by a scream was heard. Everyone in the choir room froze in place. There was another one, and everyone started to realize what was going on. They were gunshots. Mr. Schue ran to turn off the lights. "Everyone spread out, and hide. Now!" Everyone ran to crouch down in the corners of the dark room. Sam rushed to help Artie out of his wheelchair. He sat down, trying to calm himself down and be rational. At this point, everyone was crying, and he wanted to be the one to remain peaceful.

Blaine was gelling his hair in the bathroom when he heard a loud bang. He stood still, not knowing what to do. It was probably just a crash or something. He disregarded it, and continued to gel his hair, when he heard a loud shriek. His body went rigid, and he dropped his comb, running into a stall, just as another shot rang out. He got up and stood on the toilet, trembling in fear. His legs began to shake, and tears fell from his eyes. As the seconds passed, Blaine grew more and more nervous. Was Sam still in the choir room? Is he okay? He wanted his Sam. He heard a bang on the bathroom door, and he began to quietly sob, trying his best to be silent. His body had never trembled so fiercely. He had never cried so hard. If the shooter came into the bathroom, no one was there to protect him. He was alone. He continued to cry, praying to hear an all-clear soon.

Tina crawled to Sam, crying. "Blaine," she whispered. Sam's blood froze. "He's in the bathroom," she whispered. My baby. Sam thought. There's a shooter on the loose and my baby is in the bathroom by himself. Sam rose to his feet and ran toward the door. "Sam, what are you doing? Sit down!" Mr. Schue ran and blocked the door. "Mr. Schue, Blaine is in the bathroom alone. I have to go get him. I have to." He tried to shove past Mr. Schue. "If anyone asks, I didn't let you leave this room. Hurry, Sam." Mr. Schue sighed and moved out of the way. Sam sprinted out the door and down the hall to the bathroom.

He swung the bathroom door and bent down, looking to see Blaine's shoes under any of the stalls. He pushed on each one, his heart sinking more with each door that didn't reveal his boyfriend. He heard a sniffle from the last stall, and he ran and threw the door open. His body went lack in utter relief as he saw his beautiful boyfriend looking down at him. "Oh my god, Blaine," he cried. He reached up his arms and grabbed Blaine from the toilet. Blaine went numb in his arms, and he began to sob. Sam held onto him for dear life. Blaine buried his face in the crook of Sam's neck, inhaling his scent and letting it comfort him. He began to tremble at the thought of losing Sam. Sam held him tighter, and rocked him gently. "Shh, you're okay, you're alright, baby." Sam gently moved to cup Blaine's face. Blaine still couldn't stop crying. Or trembling. He'd never been more scared in his life. Sam's large fingers wiped away his tears. He moved forward and kissed Blaine's nose. "We're okay. I'm here," he whispered, massaging through Blaine's damp curls. Blaine shook his head, and buried himself in Sam's chest. "I'm sorry, Sam." Blaine whispered. He wanted to be there for Sam, and be the strong one for once. "B, hey, look at me," he whispered, lifting Blaine's chin. "You're not weak for getting scared, Blaine. I would've been scared too. I couldn't just leave you in here. We gotta go to the choir room, okay? Everyone's in there. Everyone's okay." Blaine sighed and nodded. "Okay," Sam bent down and kissed his lips softly. He took Blaine's hand and they ran out the door and headed to the choir room.

As soon as they reached the choir room, they sat down behind the piano, and Tina and Artie hugged them both tightly. They settled down, Sam holding Blaine. They both noticed Marley crying into Ryder's chest, saying how scared she was that they'd all die, and Sam knew it would make Blaine panic. Blaine began to breathe heavily, and Sam looked down at him protectively. "Hey, don't listen. She's just upset. We're going to be fine. Don't listen," He moved Blaine's head to his chest protectively, the sound of Sam's heartbeat drowning out everything else. Sam's large hand covered Blaine's ear and massaged his scalp gently. After a while, reality set in for both of them, and they, like everyone, started to cry. Everyone was paralyzed with fear, but Sam still took time to hush Blaine and kiss his head gently. The tears had turned silent for both of them, and all they could do was wait. "Blaine," Sam whispered. Blaine looked up, his caramel brown eyes meeting Sam's green ones. "I love you," Sam said quietly. Blaine began to tear up, and he kissed Sam's lips firmly. "I love you too," he whispered, nose still touching Sam's , eyes still looking at his lips. "We're gonna be okay, you know?" he whispered. "Sure," Blaine said and kissed Sam once more. Right as their lips parted, a voice came through the loudspeaker. An all clear. Everyone got up, the lights turning back on. Everyone hugged, sighs of relief being emitted from all of the students. Blaine was talking to Tina when Sam came and hugged him from behind. Blaine turned around, and hugged Sam tightly. "I'm so sorry for freaking out today. I never do that, it was just really scary," Blaine mumbled apologetically. "Hey," Sam said, lifting Blaine's chin gently. Blaine looked up at him bashfully. "It's my job to protect you. I was scared too. It's okay. Okay? I love you," Sam gazed adoringly into Blaine's eyes. "I love you more," Blaine said sweetly, standing on his tiptoes to kiss Sam. Sam wrapped his arms around Blaine's Cheerios uniform-clad waist. "What do you say we get out of here, baby?" Blaine smiled. "Alright, alright,"
