One night me and Skyler were watching a movie while Mark was making a video. She started to complain that her upper chest hurt. At first I thought it was nothing but that night she couldn't sleep and she said her chest was burning. I thought it was heart bur so I gave her some tums but those didn't help. I drove her to the doctor and they gave me some bad news. I called Mark and he drove to the hospital to find out that Sky had breast cancer. He was in shock when he found out how long she had it. She was in second grade and she has had it scence she was 5. No one knows how she got it but it was really scary for her.
"Mommy?"
"Yeah sweetie?"
"Am I gonna die?"
I broke out in tears.
"I-I don't know!"
She started to cry in fear. Mark rushed over and gave her a hug.
"D-d-daddy?"
"Shhshhhshhh. Don't cry. Your gonna be fine. Mommy and I are just as scared as you are."
"I'm I gonna be like a normal girl daddy?"
I tear rolled down his cheek.
"I'm sure you will be."
She smiled and gave him a hug and Mark came over and gave me a hug while I cried all over him. The doctor came in and had some good and bad news. The good news was it was not permanent, but the bad news was that she would have no idea when the pain would start up agian. She was able to leave the hospital the next day. I hope that me and Mark can help her the best we can.
