It was 3 o'clock in the morning. Everything quiet. The sky lay asleep in darkness that blanketed her. Her cheeks were caressed in a soft pink blush while a dim light from the television lit up her face. She soon got a call from a friend who was always in need of company. When she answered the phone she was greeted with a warm, "Hey Siara~." She paused and listened to his voice. It was sweet like honey and very soft. She remembered that his voice was something she missed. His singing helped her get sleepy and it made her feel loved. She soon replied with a soft, "Oh hello Noah!" She could almost feel the radiating smile he had on his face through the phone. She brushed her scarlet colored hair out of her eyes and grinned from ear to ear. "Have anything to do?" She questioned him often. "Nah not really. Hey, you up to anything tomorrow?" She paused for a moment and giggled. "Today is tomorrow silly but, now that you ask....no. I don't have anything to do." He chuckled. "I know smart-ass. So maybe we can hang out later?" She thought for a moment. "Yeah sure! It's cold out so be sure to wear warm clothes." He sighed. "Fine." They hung up. Later on that evening she got up and got dressed. She wore a grey sweater, thick black leggings, and a red scarf. Just enough to keep her warm. She waited around until she heard a doorbell. She
up and rushed to the door. Upon opening it she remembered how tall he was compared to her. Six-foot two inches tall. She was only five-foot four inches tall. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a white-ish grey scarf, a black t-shirt and some jeans. Not surprising. He wore that a lot. "What's up, shorty? By the way, how's the dirt down there?" She kicked him and laughed. "Pretty good. How's the weather up there, oak tree?" He chuckled and looked around. "I like our friendship. It's kinda weird. In a good way!" She replied. She hugged him and let him inside. "Jesus can it get any colder out there?" He walked over to the couch as she went into the kitchen. "I don't know. Maybe it'll warm up?" She grabbed two mugs and filled them with warm milk. "What are you doing in there?" -
"Making hot chocolate." He laughed. "Oh alright." She grabbed hot cocoa powder and poured it into the cups, mixing it thoroughly and sliding it into the microwave for thirty seconds to heat up more. "So whaddya wanna do?" She asked while grabbing the two mugs and walking into the den. "Oh I don't know. Maybe watch some movies and talk and stuff." She handed him a cup of cocoa and he took a sip. "Mmm that's really good." She giggled "I always make it this way silly." -
"Oh. I haven't had some in a while so I don't know." He laughed nervously. "It's alright." She stood up and walked to the movie cabinet and opened it. "What movie sounds good?" -
"Hmm? Maybe a scary one." She paused and laughed. "Oh alright." She grabbed a movie from the cabinet. "Well how about- Paranormal activity three?" He looked over his shoulder. "What? A sissy movie?! Nah!" Later on they chose a movie. When it ended Noah looked at his watch and sighed. "Ah damnit! I gotta go. My parents are stopping by for a while. Family time." She whined. "Noo! I'll be alone again!" "You'll be fine." He hugged her and walked to the door. "I'll see ya later short stack." She eyed the television. Silence but still the warm sensation of happiness. He had always been there for her. As night fell upon the day letting the sun god sleep she let the moon goddess cradle her. Darkness lifted her and wrapped her up in a warm blanket of sweet dreams and joy. She awoke to the smell of his cologne. Confused she sat up and saw him sitting next to her. "Woah. What are you doing here? It's like four in the morning."
"My parents and I got into an argument. I was staying in their house. Rich parents. Poor son. They kicked me out."
"Oh my god that's horrible. Did you bring your stuff? You're stating here."
He paused for a moment then replied. "You really don't have to."
"Nope. You have no choice. You're staying." She laughed.
"Fine." He chuckled. They sat up all day and then went out to dinner.
