A poem I've written for my mother. Inspired with the title "I'd Rather Make Mistakes, Than Nothing At All" by Mayday Parade- this is what came out on the paper. I hope you enjoy reading it. :-)

----------
It's a lost and broken story, all the pieces torn apart;
about two cold and lonely hearts, that take a two way part.
A boy, once gone and wandering, not sure what's next in store;
a mother unsure what to do, as nothing's worked before.
With twisted words, and some unheard, the underlying truths;
were never shown, but left alone, to hide where everything's - unknown.
The story, lost, and only told, with hopes and dreams unwritten;
though if you are, to be so bold, the story's not forgotten.
As tear-drops splash, in sidewalk cracks, a scream becomes an echo;
her sinking tears, and worried fears, rest deep inside her pillow.
The drips of blood, begin to flood, the streets with pain and sorrow;
she falls asleep, in pain to deep, and tries again - tomorrow.
So strangely, though, the story goes, while still today, unfinished;
what's written next, you'll only as guess, as no-one ever knows.
Could it be, the page that turns, and leads to something great;
while taking wild, burning flames, to open one escape?
A gate that once, was never seen, outside of hopes and dreams;
but now in sight, within the light, the gate is shining - golden bright.
The gate that takes, two broken hearts, and mends them close together;
with love and care, that's always there, a challenge, and a dare.
A dare for love, and to repair: the broken and the damaged;
to let it go, with love to show, and fight away: remaining scare.
Though once you start, you can't turn back, we're in together now;
to make things how they 'ought to be, for now... until... forever.
