"I hope Maria doesn't tell dad," she said with worry in her eyes. "What do you mean by doesn't tell dad?" Lewis asked curiously. "Well, my dad or you and your sisters steep dad and me have been living with your mother and Willow ever since your dad died. I'm happier than I was alone with my dad before because I'm not getting hurt as much..." she said trailing off. "What do you mean?" Lewis asked worriedly about his little sister. Just then the power went off and the call ended, but before it ended everyone heard one soft but hearable, "Abused..."

Willow's POV.

"So how's life Mel?" I asked as she turned to me. "Gud! How are you, Shadow, your mom, and your steep-dad?" I shivered at the thought of my Stepdad, Lewi. "Oh, where good considering Lewi left for vacation in Scotland.." I said knowing my friend would know what I was talking about, she's like a sister, she knows all my secrets, except for one... "Lewi still hurting you?!" she asked unbelieving I was fully okay. "you know it," I said while pulling my shirt up showing many little scares, the newest looking one being a large deep gash. "She looked at it, her mouth in an 'o' shape. I pull down my shirt and stay silent. Mel tries to change the subject, "any new crushes since sixth grade?" she asked in a funny voice, "let me guess, you still like Rythian?" I said pointing out the obvious. "Yup, you still confused with Toby and Phat?" she asked knowingly. "You fudging know it !!!" I said laughing.

After a bit of talking and laughing I said goodbye to Mel and told her If I saw Ryth I'd tell him she was looking for him while laughing my head off. 

I was on my way home when I bumped into someone, again... I looked up to see......

"Hunter!!!"
