What would you do if/when someone that had a huge part in shaping your current life.. Your "would've been" future.. What if that person came in front of you? What would you say to them?
I often think of it. Though when in reality one of those people come in front of me I'm unable to utter a single word of complaint.
Torn apart between what your two selves think you should do:
1) Face this person, tell them exactly how their actions or inactions, their failures, and words that poured out of their mouth at the wrong place and wrong time affected your life. How the most important day of your life, when you stood on that precipice which could've been moved by a small wind, was sent hurtling downwards because of how others chose to lead their life.
2) Don't say a word. Let them think what they want but don't stoop to their level of misconduct. You did not deserve what they did but you also don't deserve the consequences of what you might do in reaction.Perhaps all relationships in life are like this, needing to be handled with the utmost care. Though of course some are more important than others. It's all in the knowing of how to balance these, and the appropriate timing for actions and reactions.
Most of all: Control your inner wolf. That part of you that remains on guard ready to lunge at anyone or anything that tries to cause you any amount of pain.
Think before you say.. The effect of words can be very underestimated at times.Everything has consequences.
A single word can change the future.
Remember: stepping on a butterfly causes ripples in time.
