Blush petals danced around me as I stood, a bright light beamed into my eyes. A voice in the distance from behind, I turned around. It wasn't clear of what was being said.
    "What?" I said.
The voice became louder yet muffled.
    "Who's there?" I asked.

Saturday Evening
"I'm really bummed that we're not going to school together for Senior year." Sara said.
"I know me too, it was supposed to be a really special year." I explained.
"It was to be Sara and Bryn, alumni of Yumbertale High School, not just Sara..."
I felt so bad that I was leaving Sara on our Senior year but because of my mom's job, she just had to transfer to New York. Sara and I have been through everything together... literally, since pre-school till now. Don't worry, we had other friends too. Sara was my best friend and leaving her here in Portland sucks because we've been through so much. Graduating High School was definitely on the bucket list of our friendship but this is life and not everything is always going to go out as planned.
"When do you leave?" Sara asked.
   "Monday."
"Ugh, I won't have the chance to say bye, I'm busy... So I guess this is goodbye." Sara said.
"Thanks for everything." I replied as I hugged her.
"And thank you for everything, I'll miss you so much. If anything, call me." She said as she walked to her car.
I waved my last goodbye and that was it. From now I stand alone.

Monday morning
"You ready?" My mom yelled from downstairs.
"Yeah, I'll be down there in a second." I yelled back.
Leaving felt hard because Portland was my home. I enjoyed every last thing I saw, knowing it'll be a while until I see it again. Hours passed by as we flew across the country. Finally as I took my first step out of the plane, this was the beginning of whole new chapter in my life.
