Chapter 2

It had been a day since Niall and Addison had met, but to Niall it seemed like forever. He was missing the girl already, which freaked him out, since they'd only had brief conversation. None of them had wanted to leave, but a mob of girls had noticed Niall, and Addison had the common sense to run away, before she became a pancake. They'd both managed to swap numbers, though, and had organised for Niall and the boys to be at the hospital the next day which was today. That's why Niall was currently in the van with the rest of the boys, squashed.

"What are we doing today, Niall?" Harry asked for what seemed like the one hundredth time.

"I've told you Harry! We're going to the Children's Hospital and visiting the sick kids." Niall was sick of having to remind him every five seconds. But now Harry sported a smirk on his face, so Niall was certain he was doing it to bug him. Oh, how he wanted to slap the smirk right off his face. Harry wouldn't be so smug, then.

Niall looked out the window and once again, his thoughts drifted to Addison. It wasn't like he was obsessed or anything, she just happened to pop up in his thoughts. Her amazing blue eyes, her gorgeous laughter. But it wasn't like he stood a chance with her or anything. And he wasn't looking for a girlfriend either. Definitely not. Mainly because he wouldn't be able to spend as much time with her, due to being famous, and they wouldn't be able to go out much because of the media. He also didn't want to hurt the fans, he didn't want them to lose hope. Yes, they'd still believe in Harry, but he was gay. Not that most of the younger ones knew that.

"We're here!" Louis sang, and Niall glanced at the hospital from the window.

It was big, that was obvious. Most of it was made of bricks, the windows glass, and there were kids peering out from them, all looking down at their car. Maybe they were told that him and the boys were coming?

Niall waited for the other boys to get out, then jumped out of the van himself. They all walked inside, their shoes squeaking on the white tiles. They walked up to the front desk, and a lady smiled warmly at them. "How can I help you?"

Liam spoke up, returning the lady's smile. "As you can see, we're One Direction. We were asked to visit some of the children? A girl who works here asked Niall. What was her name..?" He looked at Niall, raising his eyebrow.

"Addison, Addison Parker." Niall answered. He ran his fingers through his hair, suddenly nervous to see her.

"Ah, yes. I'll go get her. You gentlemen don't mind waiting here?" The lady asked, then left without an answer.

Addison had been in one of the rooms talking to a little boy named Tommy, who she was quite close with, in a way no one understood. She a him were having a nice chat about Turtles, Tommy's favourite animal. Tommy was diagnosed with Leukemia at only seven years old, but was a fighter. He refused to give up, and that was something Addison admired. She loved him with all her heart, but was saddened because she was the only family he had. His mother was dead, caused by Cancer and his father was a workaholic, so he never even saw his son. The only thing his father did that was slightly nice was pay the hospital bills. But he refused to pay for Chemotherapy, so poor Tommy had no way of getting rid of the disease. His father hadalready believed that Tommy was going to die, because he'd tried to save his wife's life, and she'd lost her fight. Addison tried to pay for Chemotherapy, she really did, but she could barely pay for a home to live in. Tommy was her brother, but she refused to let anyone know, mainly because of all the sympathy she would receive. That would be someone's way of saying 'I'm sorry for your loss'. Addison refused to believe she was going to lose Tommy. Her little brother meant the world to her.
