The Hunters of Mystic Falls

Chapter 5

Damon had returned to the House. His black shirt open like before. He poured himself out a drink and waited for the day to pass. "Glad that's over." He said in annoyance from the interruption. He looked down at his left hand to find nothing was there. He sighed again and pulled out his phone. He pressed re-dial and held the phone to his ear. "I'm waiting, Stefan." He said in annoyance. Stefan had stolen his ring a while ago. "I want my ring!" He yelled raising his voice slightly down the phone. "If you don't give it back..." He paused and looked back down at the deceased Vicky Donavan laying on the floor. "I'll take it." He said and violently hung up the phone.

The black 67 Chevy pulled up outside a house. It wasn't a big house. But it could hold a smal family of three or four. "So Sammy..." Dean began. "How did you know to come here?" He asked casually.

"I bumped into Jeremy on the way to the hospital." Sam began. "After a bit of talking he said I could stop by sometime." He said. Dean just sat there with a sour look on his face. Sam looked at him rather confused. "What?" He asked.

"What about me?" Dean snapped slightly. Sam shrugged.

"I thought that was a given." he responded as he stepped out of the car. Dean followed behind him.

Sam and Dean walked up the path up to the door. Sam knocked gently and waited for an answer. The door opened to a young brunette girl aged around 17. "Hello." She said calmly.

"Hi." Sam said with a smile. "I bumped into your brother a while ago.

"One second." she said and called up the stairs. "JEREMY!"

"Coming!" Jeremy said as he ran down the stairs and stopped in front of the door. He stood next to the girl and looked at Sam and Dean. "Hey, Sam." Jeremy said in greeting.

"You know these two?" Elena asked slightly tempered.

"I'm Sam." Sam interviened. "This is my brother, Dean." He ntroduced. Dean saluted casually in greeting. "I know this is a little sudden but-"

"We need a place to stay for a while." Dean interrupted. "We're kinda new around here and we don't have anywhere to stay." Dean explained with a cheeky smile.

Jeremy and the girl looked at each other reluctantly. "I'll ask Jenna." Jeremy said and walked away from the door. The brunette girl looked around. "I'm Elena." She finally said nervously. Just then the sound of footsteps rushed towards the door. "Okay, okay." A yound woman's voice said. "Let's just see." She approached the door and looked up at Sam. Sam simply smiled and nodded. "Hi." He said. "I'm Sam." He then said calmly.

"I'm Jenna." She responded. "Please. Come in." She said and directed them into the living room.

Back at the Salvatore Boarding house. Vicky slowly opened her eyes. She lt out a groan of confusion and sat up looking at Damon who had hisblack shirt open still. "What happened?" Vicky asked with  a confused groan. "You're dead." Damon responded coldly not even looking in her direction. "What?" Vicky asked in even more confusion. 

"You drank my blood." He began. "I killed you and now you have to feed to complete the process." Damon finished casually like he has done this before. "Right." Vicky said. "I'm not feeling good anymore so i'm just gonna go." Vicky said as she turned to the door.

"I wouldn't do that." Damon advised quickly appearing right in front of her. "The way you are now you do not want to be alone out there." He reasoned in a shallow attempt to keep her in the house. "Just let me go." Vicky grunted and pushed past him. 

"You know what?" Damon began. "You should go." He answered contradicting his prvious responce. "You should go see your boyfriend." He then said mockingly.

"Whatever." Vicky said coldly with slight annoyance and turned to leave the room. Damon called out behind her. "Tell Elena i saud hi. And if you see Stefan, tell him to call me." As Vicky had left.

At the GIlbert house. Jenna was sat with Sam. They were having a conversation in the kitchen. Jeremy was sat on the sofa playing games While Dean sat next to him watching. "So Jeremy." Dean began. "Where's your sister?" He asked curiously.

"She's upstairs with Stefan." He answered while playing his game. "Why?" 

Dean turned to Sam with a look of worry then turned back to Jeremy. "So..." Dean started again clearing his throat. "What do you think of him? Stefan i mean." He asked trying to keep a conversation going. "He's pretty cool." Jeremy responded calmly. Dean simply nodded and took the second controller that was on the table just in front of them. "One on one?" Dean challenged.

"You're on." Jeremy responded with a chuckle as Dean set up the second controller.

Inside Elena's bedroom, Elena and Stefan were sitting outside. Stefan hung up his phone after listening to Damon's last voice mail. "He's serious." He said before reaching into his pocket and pulling out a small pouch. He opened the pouch to sow a silver ring with a deep blue lapis lazulli stone and a family crest. It was identical to the one Stefan wore on his right middle finger. But the one he was holding currently. Had a capital D in the centre. "Is that Damons ring?" Elena asked with worry. Stefan nodded. "I have to give it back to him."

"No, Stefan." Elena protested. "Keep it hidden. So he can never find it." She pleaded.

"I have to." Stefan responded. "If i don't he will start to hurt the people I care about." Elena was stunned. She couldn't say another word. So she simply nodded and Stefan covered the ring up and put it back in his pocket.

That night. Inside a mansion just in the town. Sherrif Forbes was in a small study with a group of adults. "You got it?" She asked one of the men who simply nodded and handed her a gold watch. She opened it and took the clock face out. Putting the clock face on the desk the twisted something else into the watch and shut it before handing it back to him. "It's done. Use this if it attacks you." She then said handing the watch to him. "That's it?" He questioned as if he was expecting more.

"Yes, Logan." The Sherriff replied. Logan took the watch and stuck it in his pocket. "Let's go."
