Alex sat at his desk, when a call came through on the intercom.
"Sir,I have a Dr. Bradshaw on the other line, he wishes to speak with you"
Alex sat pondering on who this Bradshaw might be, to ease his mind he told the secretary to send the call through.
"Dr. Bradshaw, this is Alex, I can't quite remember you have we ever had the pleasure of meeting"
"No I am calling on behalf of Rena"
"Rena, is something wrong with her"
"Not right now, but something might if she keeps on stressing, forgive me for being forward but you need to get over your ego and deal with things like a man"
"Excuse me, where do you get off, you don't know anything about our relationship"
"Trust me I know quite a lot, you might be surprised"
"Fine,speak"
"Now you are aware Rena is pregnant and the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy are you not?"
"Sure"
"This undue stress you are putting on her is taking a toll on her emotionally and I fear for her mental stability during her pregnancy she might not have the will power to go on,bluntly put she needs you"
Alex pondered on the words of the doctor "I have heard you"
"Fine, thanks for listening, goodbye"
The doctor hung up.
Alex called his secretary to the office.
"Cancel, my appointments for the rest of the day"
Alex packed up and left.
Alex made his way to Rena's office only to be told she had retired for the day.
He made his way over to her apartment, knocked on the door.
He heard shuffling then the door opened.
"What are you doing here?"
"Can I come in?"
"Sure"
Rena moved aside and let him in.
Alex walked straight to the sofa and sat down.
"I got a call today from the doctor he says you aren't doing well"
Rena looked at Alex, as much as she wanted to run into his arms she was even more pissed at him.
" I am fine, no need to worry about me the baby and I are OK"
"That is not what the doctor said"
"Well the doctor is exaggerating, I am good,if there isn't anything more you wish to discuss you can leave"
Rena moved to open the door " I am not going anywhere Rena "
Alex walked to the door and closed it, took Rena's hand and walked to the sofa.
"Rena I don't know how to do this I was wrong for walking out and ignoring you all this time but I felt betrayed, not only were you raped but You are carrying his child,how am I supposed to feel about that"
Rena looked at Alex "No one is asking you to feel anyway about it, I did not sleep with Ian consensually I was raped and this baby is a by product of that, it might be a part of him but it is a part of me too and I will not allow anyone to make us feel unwanted, so you can just go if this is too much for you to handle"
Alex looked into Rena's eyes and knew he couldn't live without her.
" I am not going anywhere I am going to stay and help you through this, you, me and the baby"
He rubbed her small protruding pouch,Rena hugged and kissed him and they retired to bed.
