"Marco! Marco!" Star cried as she burst through my bedroom door. What ever happened to knocking?

I sighed. "What is it, Star?" I asked her. I had just been practicing some karate before my test tomorrow, but clearly that'd have to wait.

"I accidentally discovered a weird new dimension!" she said to me excitedly as she bounced up and down. "I was trying to go visit Pony Head since she's finally out of St. O's and back home, but I got excited and this new dimension appeared instead!!"

I pondered this for a moment. "Did you go into it?" I asked.

"Of course not, silly! I waited so I could go through it with you!" I ducked every which way as she waved her wand around dangerously while she spoke.

I scratched the back of my head. "Uh, Star? Do you really think that's such a good idea? I mean, we've seen Mewni and all of its dangers, but you knew what to expect so we were fine. This place is totally new, and we know nothing about it..." I thought out loud, hoping Star would actually think about this instead of being impulsive like usual.

"Of course it's a good idea! It's a GREAT idea, Marco! Now hurry up, get outta your karate clothes and put your real clothes on!" she said immediately, shoving me into my closet and shutting the door.

"What?! How did this happen? I didn't agree to this!" I cried from inside the closet.

"Just get dressed, Marco!" she yelled from the other side.

Realizing that this was actually happening, I sighed and got dressed.

Star pointed her dimensional scissors at the air and cut it like paper, as we both stood in the yard. A section of the air split unevenly in half, and an unknown land became visible to us.

Pine trees. Everywhere. It looked like a normal forest, but looks can be deceiving.

Star bounced up and down in place as she stared through the portal at the new place.

"Isn't it cool, Marco!?" She asked ecstatically, grabbing my arm and shaking me.

"Sure, Star. Let's just be careful." I said trying to regain my balance, but before I could, Star grabbed me by the arm and pulled me through the portal.

"AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" I screamed as we fell from the sky into the forest, and quite possibly our death. "Why are we falling from the sky?!" I hollered to Star. I'll never get used to traveling with Star's dimensional scissors, but usually we at least just step through and find the ground; we've never just fallen from the sky!

"I don't know, but isn't it exciting?!" Star said, putting her arms out as if she were flying. The ground is getting dangerously close, and she wants to pretend to fly?!

"Star," I said, shutting my eyes.

"Flying sparkly rainbow blast!!" She yelled the spell, pointing her wand toward the ground. A huge sparkling rainbow appeared below us and caught us not a moment too soon. I was too shaken up to remind Star that rainbows aren't supposed to be made of solids, so I just crawled off the rainbow when we were close to the ground.

I lay there for a minute, my hand on my heart, trying to catch my breath.

"Wasn't that fun!? I told you this dimension would be exciting!" Star said, standing over me. She offered me her hand and helped me up.

"Sure, if you want to call almost dying fun," I said sarcastically, brushing myself off.

"Oh, come on, we almost die on a daily basis; you'd think you'd be used to it by now." Star started walking toward an opening in the trees.

"Wait for me!" I cried, running to catch up with her.

~30 MINUTES LATER~

"Why are there so many trees?!" Star asked. "Where are all the monsters? And the people?"

"Star, I know as much as you do about this place," I said frustrated. "Which is literally nothing." I added.

"Wait!" Star said stopping. "What's that?!"

"Probably just another tree, Star." I said as I continued to walk.

"No, Marco, it's a building!" She said, pointing her wand at the building, if you could even call it that.

"The Mystery Shack," I read the words on the building aloud as we neared. "This place looks like a tourist trap in the middle of nowhere." I observed.

"Ooo, a tourist trap!!" said Star in awe. Before I could tell her that tourist traps aren't a good thing, we heard voices, and they were getting closer.
