Saturday Night : Yasmin's point of view
I heard the line cut off as I was busy laughing to myself. I looked at the clock to see that it was 7:14 PM.
"Let's go crash a bullshit party." I sighed, stretching my arms and turning off the movie that I was watching. My eyes were sleepy until I realised that I had to look for a presentable dress.
I sighed to myself, making my way towards my room. Going through my closet, I pushed aside my prom dress and looked for another one. I spotted a dark blue dress which I wore to a dance last year in high school.
"Guess this'll be fine." I said, eyeing the dress hoping that it would still fit.
I sucked my gut in as much as I could, but knowing how much I was going to eat later, I gave up.
And then I realised that I didn't have a car and didn't even know how to drive.
"Great."
...
The bus ride was awkward. Creepy old guys kept staring at me and others just eyed the weird girl, in the bedazzled dress, on a bus, who looked terrified.
"The food better be amazing." I mumbled under my breath. The crowded bus became more and more crowded as new faces borded. I planned a swift escape from the bus as it neared my destination.
Once the bus came to a stop, I rushed off of it and looked for the building. I suddenly spotted a party hall and made my way in side.
Frantically looking around, I entered the main room.
I looked in awe as hundreds of people were conversing to eachother in impressive suits and elegant dresses.
I turned my gaze to y/n's parents, sitting in the far left corner. Trying to get their attention, I began to wave as I walked forward. I ended up stumbling into someone's shoulder as I braced myself for the fall.
To my surprise, the stranger grabbed hold of my arms and kept me up. We rocked from side to side, trying to regain our balance. As I directed my eyes towards the mysterious man, I saw his handsome face.
"Oh gosh, are you ok?" He said in a deep, raspy voice. The sound of it caught me off guard and made me very nervouse. Staring at the man, I almost forgot to respond.
"Oh, I- um, I'm sorry" I managed to say as I stood upright and brushed dirt off of the cheap dress. As I did, the boy suddenly saw my whole face and began to stutter aswell.
"Ah... n-no, it was m..my bad.... Y-you're very...um.." He faded out, looking down at the floor now.
"I'm very what?" I said teasingly, regaining confidence.
"...Cute..."He responded almost in a whisper. My heart twisted as I saw the adorable expression on his face.
"I'm what?" I teased again. Raising my eyebrows at him.
"Hey, no fair!" I giggled at his goofiness when suddenly I remembered why I was there.
"I'm Jack-"
"I have to-"We cut eachother off, stumbling back due to the embarrassment. My body began to get hot as I looked around the room. Anywhere but at him. He was very handsome and had a built body. His cute expressions melted my heart.
"You're name is Jack? As in short for Jackson?" I softly said, trying to regain normalcy in the conversation.
"Ah, yea. But I don't like Jackson, so everyone calls me Jack."
"Well, unlucky for you, I happen to hate Jack and love the name Jackson. Is it cool if I call you Jackson?" My heart was pumping fast. I had no idea where all of this confidence was coming from, but I liked it.
