Tyler, Leo, Stephanie and I move back towards the Glycon dorms in silence.
"Who would attack the school then kidnap one random kid?" Leo wonders out loud.
"Do you think Mika was targeted or was just unlucky?" Steph whispers.
"There's no way of knowing." I answer, monotonously, keeping my line of sight ahead. I clutch the energy orbs box closer to my chest. I went back to pick them up before catching up with the rest of the dispersing crowd. Best to have some kind of protection if the situation were to happen again. Stopping at the wooden panel hiding our dorms, Tyler speaks up.
"Lets just hope it doesn't happen again." He then turns to the wolf carving, pauses, then looks back. "Uh...does anyone remember the password?" I can't help but smile. Of course. Walking up to the wolf.
"Leo, cover your ears." He does so, " amicis suis in proelio" I whisper.
"Granted" The creepy carving voice rings out.
"Never going to get over that." Tyler smirks as we walk in, but we're all stopped short as we see Medan sitting in front of the fire.
"THERE YOU ARE! WHERE IN THE BLOODY DIMENSION WERE YOU?" Steph starts screaming, which was met by one of the older kids shouting down one of the hallways "SHUT UP!"
"I was here." He answers. "And I suppose this one's staying with us until the Azrael situation is sorted out?" I freeze.
"Yeah." Tyler jumps in.
"You wanna grab a mattress or something?" Steph suggests.
"Alright come on." Medan hauls himself up and Steph drags him and Leo back out the door. Before Tyler can follow them, I hold him back and wait until they are out of earshot.
"How'd Medan know about what happened in Azrael?" I whisper. "He wasn't in the crowd and he said he was by the fire the whole time"
"Okay, first he could be lying, second word spreads quickly, third, some of the older kids could have came in and told him. I get what you're thinking, and it is suspicious, with the circumstances, but for now, lets give him the benefit of the doubt." He whispers back.
"Alright. You go ahead. I'll catch up." I nod in the direction of the door. Tyler gives me a weird look.
"You're going to search our room aren't you?" He sighs. I open my mouth to say something, but find nothing to say. "Well, if you do, get out before we come back." He sprints out the door, leaving me there. Shaking myself out of the shock, I jog down our corridor, drop off the orb box behind my door, and into the boy's room. I spot Tyler's pajamas on one of the beds so I turn to the other side of the room. I go through the trunk at the bottom of the bed, being sure to put everything back as it was. Nothing. A quick check under the bed yields nothing either. Maybe Tyler was right. Maybe Medan's just a being a bit of a creep to unsettle us.
"Alright. One last try, If I was Medan and if I was the one responsible for the Azrael dorm break in, where would I hide the evidence..." I mutter to myself. "I'd try to frame someone else, someone who I'd want to get in trouble. Someone who caught me in the act. So Raiden or Tyler. Mimir hasn't had anyone breaking in so...Tyler." I dive to the floor and look under Tyler's bed. At first, there doesn't seem to be anything there. I'm just about to get up when I shift my angle and something under there reflects the light from the window back at me. I slowly attempt to reach back under when my fingers brush something cold. I slowly slide it out. In my hands, is a small knife. The blade at the tip is blunt, thank god, I would have cut myself since I grabbed it around there.
Out in the hallway, I hear the others dragging something, supposedly the mattress down the hallway. Thinking quick, I run through the connecting doors, shove the knife into my trunk, then dash out in the hallway to help drag their cargo in.
"Well, we should probably take a shower or something." Steph suggests.
"Yeah. Lets relax for a while, after the trials and whatever happened today." Leo mentions before the boys walk back into their room. Stephanie makes a beeline for the bathroom and I pick up the box with my power spheres and flop down onto my bed. Medan's up to something, he might be responsible for Mika's disappearance and the break in to Azrael's dorms, the knife lines up with the claw like marks on the carvings and the reflective object he was holding when we first caught him. He's going to suspect us if he finds out his knife is missing. There's no telling what he'll do then.
He's going to sneak out at night again. He's going to try to cause more trouble. I begin toying with my necklace. I won't know if he sneaks out at night if I'm back in the other dimension. I undo the clasp at the back and put it at the bottom of the chest, next to Medan's knife and under all the books and clothes. Sliding the box with my power orbs under my bed, I think to myself,
'I'm not leaving until all this is sorted out.'
