It was times like these Celes liked most. When Alice got so absorbed in her book that she tuned out the world around her, and Celes could stare, and not get caught by the unsuspecting girl.
Celes herself sat a table away, hopelessly pretending to read her history text book, that she despratley needed to read but she couldn't help herself Alice was just so... so beautiful, to celes at least. While most teased the girl for her messy chestnut hair, crooked nose and the extra fat that hung around her mid section, Celes cherished them. In fact, she cherished each and every one of Alice's quirks. Like the way she tugged at the back of her hair when she was nervous, or how she tilted her head when she read, like she was doing now.
Celes sighed wistfully, turning back to her textbook. She looked at the garbled words and the pages upon pages of information she felt was boring and unnecessary, and put her head down on her book and moaned loudly.
"Do you need help?" Celes jumped, quickly snapping her head off the book and towards the source of the voice, her face turning beet red when she realized it was Alice, who she hadent heard move out of her seat.
"Huh? Oh! Aha..y-yeah actually" she admitted trying her hardest not to stare as the brunette situated herself across from her.
"What is it your trying to do?" 'Oh god oh shit oh god oh god' Celes thought as she watched Alices perfect lips, covered in pinnapple lipgloss, move as she spoke
"I-i'm trying to do my History homework but I just..Just don't understand." She said. "It's, it's a paper on the Renaissance but I... just cant"
Celes watched Alice's face as she listened to her speak, taking note of the occasional extra blink as she tuned in. Another quirk she added to the list.
"What level history are you in, if you don't mind me asking?"
Celes looked away blushing. "I'm in B level, with Mr.Laconte. Pretty stupid, huh?" She admitted, hating to have such a low placing in nearly all of her classes.
"Your not stupid just for being in a lower placement" Alice reassured. "It just means you need more time to learn" she smiled, reaching out a hand and putting it on Celes' forearm.
Celes nearly melted at the touch, and she could feel the flush quickly spreading back on her cheeks as she pulled away.
"Do you have a piece of paper? I can give you a good essay format they showed us in the junior AP class" Celes nodded, glad to be able to hide her face from her. She re-emerged with a wrinkled lined paper, and watched as alice furiously scribbled out a diagram, with her bubbley handwriting.
"Here, just use this!" She folded up the paper and slid it across the table, going back to her spot to retrieve her book, as she left the library.
It seemed like ages before Celes moved, finally grabbing the paper and reading through it, with a fascination. She paused looking at a comment at the bottom, and flushed once more, letting out a surprised giggle, as she read it out loud.
"I saw you staring. I'm prettier up close, call me?"
