*loud knocking* The first two knocks were like an earthquake in my stomach, so loud and scary. I was more nervous than I had ever been in my entire life. I knew that if I messed up, I would never smile or be happy ever again. Although I do have to admit, I don't even remember the last time I did or felt those two. Let's just say, a few peoples lives depended on me. I opened the door to find what I'd (we'd) been expecting.
The two large, buff men walked into the room. "Name?" One of them asked in a deep, demanding voice. "That would be Hailey Willson, sir." When I talked to him, I felt like I wasn't even in a world, as if I was trapped in a never ending nightmare. He wrote something down on his notebook and gave me a complete stare. "And?" The other man asked. "Oh um, just me, sir." I had never lied in my entire life but, if I told the truth, I wouldn't even have a life. Both men laughed. "This one has humor Shawn!" They laughed until they could tell that by the look in my eyes, I was being completely serious. "That's nonsense girl! How could a child like you even own a cabin and have food?" I thought of something quick. "I'm thirteen, and my parents just recently died." There was only one lie in that sentence and sadly, it wasn't about my parents. Honestly, I'm eleven but, I'm 5'3 and that's pretty tall for my age. One man looked up at me. "Hmph, the last of the Willsons aye?" I nodded cause if he knew two of my cousins had escaped, if he knew they were right under his giant, lumpy nose, we'd all die. The longer he stared at me, the more I began to feal uncomfortable and sweat.
He took a deep breath. "Very well then, here are your numbers." I looked at the numbers written on the recipt like, piece of paper. I was pretty surprised. "How lucky, Apartment 0820! Just like my birthday! Only if it had a 2004..." I almost got caught lying! "I mean 2002 at the end, of course!" I heard one man whisper into the other large ear, "This one ain't gonna live for long." Of course, they didn't know, they'd be dead wrong. "Okay, well I guess I'll pack up and move to my apartment as soon as possible!" I told them trying to play it cool. One of them looked at me as if I had been suspected as a murder. They left the house slowy and I fakley grinned ar them and nervously laughed. Until they were about thirty feet away from the cabin, I slammed the door shut in relief and took a big sigh. Everyone came out of there hiding places and cheered me on. "You did it Hailey!" My cousin, Bella, said making me feel better. "I can't believe it! I did do it! I have never saved a few people from death!" I felt pretty good about myself. "It's only the beginning, Hailey." Bella said grinning. Little did Bella, me, the entire country know that Bella's words were soon to become indeed a fact.
