Alexander-- or Alex, as he like to be called-- was a normal kid. He went to Autumn Oak High in a normal town in Delaware. At first glance, there was nothing strange about Alex. He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes. Nothing different or unique about him. He got normal grades and didn't join any clubs. He may be a little antisocial, but still had a few friends. And if he so happened to be able to read people perfectly, be able to see into their every desire, and predict exactly what they needed to do to live a happy successful life, well, that was nobody's business but his.

Alex's parents were happy together, though they were often busy with work. Alex, being an only child, was often left alone in his house. Though it suited the teen just fine. He could take care of himself. He did his homework on time, made himself dinner, read a few books, and went to bed at 9:30. Every. Single. Day.

One would almost say that the dark-haired male's life was dull, boring even. But in reality, it was anything but.

No matter how sad and pathetic Alex's home life might be, it was more than made up for by the activities at school.

The school itself was pretty normal, no fireworks, explosions, or crazy field trips. It's a good thing there were such eccentric homo sapiens to make up for that fact.

But before we can get to that, perhaps we should start at the beginning.

------------

Ever had one of those days where you wake up and think: "Today's going to go to shit, I should probably stay in bed."? Of course, granted, many of you probably think that everyday, being the unmotivated young adult/teenagers that make up most of this generation. But I digress. Either way, Alex was feeling like that today. Which was strange, and the young male couldn't help but feel like something... out of the ordinary was going to happen.

The feeling persisted during breakfast, with Alex sitting quietly in his seat while his father read the news and his mother served up eggs and toast. Alex distracted himself by silently observing his parents.

His father was hoping for a promotion, he noticed, for Mr. Helver was rather cheerful today, seems he was close to one too. As was his mother, she was humming happily under her breath, seems she's on to a new story. Alex's father is an employee of a stock business, and his mother is a journalist.

On the walk to school, he ignored the feeling by reading a new novel he found.

During the entirety of the morning, the feeling nagged at the teen. By now, Alex was more annoyed than apprehensive. He sort of wished that something would just happen and have the feeling to stop bothering him. He got his answer at lunch.

Alex was just sitting in his corner, brooding over his tuna salad sandwich. When Lyla, his... almost friend approached him. Right now he had no actual friends of course, we weren't lying when we said that he had a few friends, but the pinnacle of his high school life was later, now, he was just another angsty, friendless teenager.

"Alex!" Lyla greeted. "How are you today?"

Alex just looked at her witheringly. She wanted his help, he could see that from her posture, a little uncertainty in her eyes and the way she held herself, but not enough for it to be a personal problem. For a friend then.

"Who is it?" The male asked rather bluntly.

"What?"
