It was an August morning and the sun was shining bright.

As the car drove up the winding path, she could see the building from far away. It was a concrete giant and looked as if it was a town of its own, but it was her University.

"So this is where I'm going to start over again, looks like should be fine."

She closes her eyes and tries to remember, remember what her parents had told her, but it was too painful. So, she decided to concentrate on the structure ahead and think about her life ahead, how she was going to make a comeback after what happened...No, no! This wasn't helping. No matter what she did, her mind seemed to delve into the past over and over again. She let out a grunt, collapsing to plant her head in between her knees.

"If only, If only I would've said no...Oh! How I wish I had said no."

The driver's voice, jolting her back into the real world, seemed to save her.

"Madam, we've reached."

"Oh, yes. I see we have. Sorry I was a little distracted. Would you please help me with the luggage?"

"Of Course, madam."

She opened the door and stepped out. Did the air really seem fresher, or was it because she finally escaped that dreadful place? She took a deep breath and walked towards the glass door. So, this where she was gonna stay, her hostel. Well, it did seem nice on the outside. How will the people inside be like? Not like she cared, she was used to the roughest of behavior. Now, now...she mustn't go back to that.

"Madam, where should I keep these?"

"Travis, please put them over there, near the doors. Yes, I can handle from here on. Thank you, Travis.", and she gave him a smile.

Travis returned it, bowed low and returned to the car thinking, "She's such a nice kid, I wonder why she has to go through it all. Haven't seen the kid laugh heartily in years now. I hope she will get better here." And he drove away.

August Summer watched the car drive away till she could see it, then walked inside the main lounge and proceeded to complete her registration. She was a plump, hazel-eyed sweetheart with an oval face and brown locks neatly pulled back in a high ponytail, and her fringes scattering over her forehead. She wore big framed glasses. She was beautiful in her own way. But then, she didn't like anything about her since IT happened.

As she was filling out the form, a lady with horn-rimmed spectacles, from behind the desk studied her from above her glasses.

"Hmm. Pretty little thing. Either reserved or stuck up. Either way, she may turn out to be a trouble. But then, maybe she will mind her own business. Good fashion sense, though."

August completed the form and pushed it across the table to the lady behind the desk. She took it almost mechanically, checking if there were any faults. There were none. Good. So, her name is August. Interesting.

She looked at August and said, "Dear, you do know which room you're in, don't you?"

August replied,"Yes, Ma'am."

"Good then, Will you be carrying your own luggage?"

"Yes, ma'am."

"Okay. Welcome aboard, dear."

August turned, picked up her laptop bag and slung it diagonally, picked up the American Tourister backpack and flung it over her shoulder but in the process, knocked down a vase kept nearby. She tried to pick it up and turned abruptly, hitting another girl with her backpack and knocking her down. She turned to apologize, but this time her huge trolley fell down with a thud, and fortunately, didn't hurt anyone. By then, every eye inside the lounge was on her.

"She's a walking definition of disaster."

"Could anyone get clumsier?"

"I hope she doesn't cross my path too often."

"She's a fat, clumsy bitch."

The lady behind the desk walked up to her and said, "Now, now. I think it'd be better if you didn't try to help at all. Just get you luggage and go to your room. Okay, dear?"

As August turned to leave, she thought and frowned, "She's a trouble alright."

Tears streamed down her cheeks, as August walked up the stairs. "It is never going to get better. I can never start again. It's all my fault. I'm not good enough. How did I even hope to be happy again?" She dragged her luggage to her room on the first floor, and to her relief it was empty. She set down her luggage, dried her eyes and got up.

I am August Summer, and I'm gonna be okay. I failed today. So, what? Tomorrow's another day. She organised her side of the room and sat down on her bed, tired. She tried closing here yes but as soon as she did, her mind drifted back. She tried talking to her parents, but the result was still the same. Finally, she squatted down on her bed and firmly decided to think of what's gonna happen next.

Yes, indeed. Tomorrow's another day. Who the hell am I kidding? I am always gonna be like this. Clumsy. Nerdy. Imperfect. Everyone will hate me here as well. I can never make a comeback.

P.S. I will be updating every Monday. The first few chapters may be boring, but it will get interesting, I promise. :)
