"Don't jump!" I screamed running up the fire escape. "CHI!"

"It's corrupted. I don't care about anything anymore. The only thing I have to tell you is...Don't let your half get dark..." Chi murmured deliriously approaching the edge of the hotel's roof.

Chi's green eyes glinted with blood lust as she turned to face me and she smiled eerily. The girl who was my sister was not anymore. Her black hair blew in the blistering wind and it bit her pale cheeks. Her face was unchanging. Then...she jumped....

I smiled at Chi as her pale pink hair blew in the wind. I brushed my curls away from my cheeks as a cherry blossom planted itself in one of my ringlets.

"Mio-chan," Chi finally spoke adjusting the bunny clip on the right side of her head.  "Isn't it ironic that my name means 'blood'? I think I'm a pretty cheerful person,"

"That is odd," I answered. "You're not creepy or bloody at all!" I said, dismissing the topic, smiling at her.

She giggled and flipped her hair behind her shoulder. I adjusted my blue pleated skirt and fixed the collar of my shirt.

The cherry blossom trees that surrounded the small dirt path we walked on rustled in the spring breeze as the school gates came into view.

"Well, I'll see you after class!" Chi brightly called to me running towards her classroom. Chi was my twin sister, although we looked nothing alike. I mean, there were so many differences it's strange to think we were related at all. Her pink hair didn't resemble my ordinary (and curly) brown hair at all. Her green eyes and olive skin was not much like my blue eyes and some-what fair skin at all, but we shared the same kind of humor and secrets. We never fought, although I often had to correct the air-headed mistakes that she would make. I was cool and collected, She was bright and cheery. That's just how it was. Our lives seemed perfect despite our poor living conditions. We lived in a tranquil area no one really thought anyone could live in. Deep in the forest south of our school there was a clearing where a simple tent stood. Somehow, Chi and I managed to get through the fiercest storms and the hottest or coldest days in our tent. The tent we had lived in for four years.

We had a hard time when it came to money as well due to the fact that  not everyone wanted to have two poor teens working for them. We scrounged for jobs in the worst places and at the moment, we were working at a small diner on the freeway. The pay was low, but we were able to make a living from it. We would use the old well, amidst the new development in our town, for water and we were able to make a fire so we lived off of ramen and other kinds of meals of that sort. It really wasn't as bad as it seems, seeing the both of us were very optimistic.

We went to a school which required no pay and we made satisfactory grades. In 8th grade we weren't given much homework or study material so school wasn't a worry of ours. At school, we were each other's only company. We blended in, (even though Chi's hair was pink) and we sat alone in our classes and at lunch we murmured to each other, glaring at anyone who approached us.

After a pointless six hours of school, Chi and I were almost home. It was getting dark early due to the short days from the winter season. We trudged through bushes getting closer to our ragged tent. Our legs were tired from the long trek to school and back, and our uniforms and shoes were getting soiled with dirt and leaves once again. I'll surely have to wash all this tonight so it will be dry by the morning...I can't have the other students and teachers thinking we live like this or we'll get in trouble...

We stepped into what we called home. The size of the tent was relatively large. Inside were two sleeping bags, a pot, and a pile of instant noodle packets. Hehehe...I guess that's not so large.
