Nightmare Memories

Steve's P.O.V. 
      "Jarvis start running tests on an anti-serum. We may need a way to stop her, if the other serum does take her over." Tony says. 
      "What makes you think that if the serum takes over you'll be able to stop it?" I ask. "Trying to take the serum out of her or over ride it with a different serum could kill her." I say. 
       "What, Cap do you suddenly care?" Tony asks," I watched her beg you not to let us watch these tapes. She was willing to do anything just for you to burn the room. And you turned a cold shoulder to her. So please, inform me why you suddenly care!" Tony exclaims. I'm about to answer back when an alarm starts to go off. "Savage." Tony says typing something into the monitor. The feed from the cell that Loki was kept in comes up. Savage was headed towards The other girl and boy in the cell. And her eyes were white. We all look at one another and take off towards the cell.

Third Person P.O.V.

      As the Avengers and Barry Allen enter the room where the round cell is kept in, they turn to see a terrible sight. Makenna is fighting with Lilly and Jack. Jack is on the ground unconcious. Lilly is trying to talk to her but Makenna can't hear she is stuck in her own mind with no door to get out. Just a window where she can watch herself trying to kill her best friends. The avengers just look at them because they don't know what to do. 

Lilly's P.O.V.
     It started 20 minutes ago. Her head was starting to hurt but so was mine so I didn't think much. When she passed out was when I knew what was coming. I tried to holler for anyone to come help but it didn't seem like anyone cared. and then she woke up her eyes were white. I woke Jack jack up and he tried to help me. But, it was too late if no one was going to help us, then we would die anyway. So we started to fight. 
      "Macky!" I say." Stop, you know me! We've been best friends since the red room! We escaped together. Remember?" She starts to use her powers on me and I back up against the glass wall. This cell is the one Loki was in during the battle of New York. But, if someone didn't come help it wouldn't matter how far this dropped. Makenna would come back and kill everyone without a second glance. "Mack! Makenna! Makenna Ray!" She punches at my face but I move my head and punches through the glass. I move and look at her. Her fist is bloody but she doesn't care she comes towards me. And then the Avengers enter the cell. Steve grabs her from behind and holds her there. It makes sense that he can hold her because he's the other super soldier in this room. Tony comes in and injects Makenna with a sedative. Her start to droop. 
       "Wait!" I say," I need a pair of electrodes and a tape recorder." They all just look at me." I'll explain it later just go hurry!" A guy walks in the room with some and I attach them to her temples. I look at the recorder and I can see it recording. Captain Kill Me Now, picks her up and lays her on the bench. 
        "Now explain." he says. I nod and sit at the end of the bench by Makenna. 
        "It was about 2 years ago. This creepy German guy found us. He said he was fond of Makenna and how she did what she did. He set up a meeting and she went and the next thing I know she is being strapped to a table, and experimented on. The next three days straight, she would have these nightmares. She would bleed and scream and her bones would just break. She tried to kill me and Jack." I look at everyone in the room," She can't control it. She tried to one time and almost killed herself. Since then we've been able to see what's going on inside her head using electrodes and her brain patterns to create an image. That is what is on some of those tapes. That's why she wanted them destroyed." 
         "What does she see?" Tony asks. 
         "Sometimes it's the future other times it's not that kind. Her past is a struggle, you may have heard Natasha talk about a red room. Well, we started to get trained there, and then something happened to her in there. She won't tell me what. And it changed her. She became savage. And then her and I escaped." 
       "No one escapes that place." Natasha says," I tried I'd know." 

       "We did. She got me up in the middle of the night and we got out. We ran until we found this crappy hotel. Anyway, sometimes she sees things from her past that she would rather forget. It's the cruelest torture she's ever had to face. It tears her apart." I sit back against the wall. 

       "What do you think she is seeing now?' Steve asks. 
       "I don't know. But it has never been this bad." I hold her hand. "But, we'll know when she wakes up. I'll stay with her. You don't have to worry, the worst part is over now." Steve looks at everyone then back at me. 
        "I'll stay with you. I have some questions for you anyway." The rest of the avengers nod and they leave. As Tony steps out of the cell I think I hear him say something about Steve just wanting an excuse to stay with his new girlfriend. I smile at the thought of someone liking Makenna. She needs that in her life. 

Steve's P.O.V.
     I sit across from both of the girls. 

    "You said you had questions, ask them." Lilly said. 
     "Right. We started to watch those tapes and I was just wondering what happened to her while she was there? And what about the red room?" I ask. 
      "She lost her hope. All she ever wanted was her dad to come home. To come back and pick her up and say I missed you. That never happened for her. She's never had that strong male role in her life. She never had a hero who she could look up to." She sighs," We didn't meet until she was almost 13. So she was alone for eight years before we even met. And it doesn't help that we met in the Red Room." 
      "Can I ask what the red room is?" 
      "It's . . . well, you know training camps. It's basically 100 times worse. The K.G.B. created it to train young girls to become super spies. It was supposedly disbanded a long time ago. But in reality it wasn't. There were 150 girls in total. Out of our group Makenna and I were the most highly ranked. Until one day, they took Makenna, alone, to go somewhere. she came back and she wasn't the same person as when she went in. She still wanted to be good when she went in and then she came out and, it was like she had lost her will to live. She didn't care who she was for awhile and then the nightmares started." Lilly looks at Makenna. 

      "When they started what did she see?" I ask, crossing my arms over my chest. 
      "At first we didn't know but then we figured out how we could see. so then another nightmare came and we watched it. At first it was just memories. Then she started to see the future. Bombs going off, Planes crashing, even the next president. Over time they have gotten worse though. I can feel her wanting to give up again. And this time I won't be able to stop it. Promise me something." She says quietly," If we see something tonight that will hurt Makenna, we keep it from her. We can't tell her." 
      "How many have you kept from her?"
     "Not many. Just one that would destroy her. The last one I hid was of Jack . . . he died. In this cell." She looks at Jacks lifeless body." i didn't want to let her know that it was going to be her fault." 

    'You mean he's dead?" She nods," I need to get rid of the body before she wakes up. She'll be torn when she sees him." I stand up and pick Jack up. for a dead body he's pretty light. "Look Lillian, I'm sorry about Jack I can see how much he means to you." I say. 
     "Not nearly as much as Makenna does." I say quietly. "And it's okay I said goodbye. That was the easy part. The hard part is getting Macky to understand it wasn't her fault." Lillian runs her hand along Makenna's hair line.
