Stephanie's POV
"Ok I understand but you are still not answering my question! Where. Are. They?" I yelled drawing out the last few words so my mother would understand what I was asking.
"Stephanie you three don't talk anymore sweetie, I don't know what else to tell you."
"What do you mean we don't talk anymore where is my cell phone?" I questioned insanely confused.
There was no way we weren't friends anymore, I'd known Peyton since I was 4 and Ryan since I was 11.
"it was destroyed in the wreck"
As soon as she said that she takes her phone out of her purse handing it to me and then excusing herself, leaving the room.
"Your mom is trying... This is a lot to deal with." Jordan said from the corner of the room.
"I know, I know I just need to make a phone call." He nodded at me exiting the room as well.
I scroll through her phone finding the name Ryan clicking it and placing the phone to my ear as the audible ringing fills the silence in the room
"Hello? Mrs Sinclaire? why are you calling me?"
"Hey Ry its me... um I just wanted to know if you were gunna come see me, or if anyone even told you where I was..."
"I can't come see you, Carter made that pretty clear the other day."
"But Ry I'm in the hospital and they're telling me I forgot things but the last thing I can remember clearly is celebrating my birthday at your house... and no one will tell me where you and Peyton are but you should be here and you're not."
"Two years ago I would've been there, and I wouldn't have left even if Carter threatened my life again, but you don't need me there now, and I highly suggest you don't call Peyton; your number is probably blocked anyways. Get better, I guess..." and with that said the line went dead. What the hell?
Tears well in My eyes as Carter came into the room with another boy that I sort of recognized from school, I didn't know his name though.
"Hey Stephie..." Carter said sitting down in the chair next to my bed As the other boy takes another chair and pulls it close to the bed as well.
"How's our girl?" He questions me.
'There girl'? This is stupid I don't even know them. I smile weekly trying to hold back tears of frustration at the situation I was in. I was clearly important to these two boys but I have no idea what their significance is in my life.
"Well considering I've forgotten the last two years of my life... pretty good I guess" I laughed at myself as tears started to fall.
The other boy looked at Carters face worriedly realizing he should say something else before Carter began to cry again as well.
"you had us worried Steph..." the boy mumbles still looking slightly nervous and uncomfortable at the fact that his friend and I just started crying.
"I'm sorry." I whispered.
"Hey hey hey... as long as you're still breathing right?" He says with a smile on his face grabbing my arm reassuringly. "That's all we care about."
"Ya I guess" I say laughing lowly
"So... do you remember my name?" The boy questions me.
Fuck. there's a long pause as I try to concentrate on his face, willing myself to remember anything. Even a year book picture with a name under it, so I wouldn't disappoint them. But I had nothing.
