Chapter three

The flight went much faster than I thought it would. I started out sitting in the plush seat reading some magazines and listening to music. About an hour and a half into the flight, I had to use the restroom. When I stood up I saw a girl my age sitting in the seat behind me.

She had long brown hair tied into a French braid. She looked gorgeous. Her skin was perfect and she was über skinny. Not like a gross skinny but a health, pretty skinny. On top of that she was reading a One Direction magazine!

I decided that after I used the restroom I would introduce myself. God knows I need someone to talk to on this flight, and it definitely won't be B.O. guy.

After using the restroom I slowly made my way back to my seat. As I sat down, I looked over the top of my seat and made eye contact with the girl sitting behind me. She gave me a small, shy smile and looked like she was about to say something but the changed her mind.

I decided to use a common interest as a conversation starter. Naturally, my first thought was music. So in other words, One Direction.

"Hey," I said to her, "is that a One Direction magazine?"

"Uh, yeah," she said, kind of embarrassed, like she didn't want to be caught reading it.

"No way! Who is your favorite?" I asked her. Mine was Niall of course, but I was curious to see if she was Directioner or a Directionator.

"Harry! Of course! Who else could it be?" She said excitedly.

"No way!" I said. "Niall all the way!" We both looked at each other and burst out laughing.

"Hi, I'm London!" She told me.

"Hi London! My names Katie!"

We started talking about where we were from and our families. Turns out she was a lot like me. She grew up in Missouri but always hated it. She lived with her mom and dad, as well as her two younger brothers and her younger sister. She went to a high school in the middle of nowhere, so she was stuck with the same kids every year. I told her I understand because that was just like me!

When I asked her where she was going, she told me she was actually moving to California, like I was. She told me she had been accepted to Stanford University and wanted to major in teaching. I told her I was heading to Stanford too and she said we had to be roommates.

I laughed and thought about how great that would be. London was hilarious and so so so sweet. Like she couldn't even hurt a fly. We spent the rest of the flight talking about ourselves and other random things like Harry Potter and the Hunger Games.

As we got off the plane we swapped phone numbers and headed our separate ways. I looked down at my phone and saw I had received email. It was from 1D's website. All I saw were the words "concert" and "California" before I ran into someone.

I dropped my phone and my carry on bag as I ran right into the person standing in front of me. I looked down and saw everything had fallen out of my bag and was laying all of the airport floor. I knelt down on the ground and began to pick up my belongings Not long after that person I ran into started helping me too. I thanked them and before I knew it they were gone. I didn't even get to see what they looked like.

Oh well, I thought to myself. It doesn't really matter. It's not like it was some extremely hot 19 year old. I mean what were the odds? I started walking again and turned on the phone in my hands.

I looked down expecting a picture of Spencer, Meghan and I to be staring up at me, but instead I saw a picture of five extremely attractive boys.

Immediately I knew this phone wasn't mine. I always kept my lock screen as my friends, no matter what. So, if this wasn't my phone, then whose was it?
