Hello! First, thanks soooo much for reading this fic, it means a lot!I would like to give some general info about the story and how it's going to work. It might be pretty boring, but it's really important that you read this in order to fully understand the plot, even if you only skim over it. I'm sorry, bear with me.
I would like this story to be around 20-25 chapters. Each chapter will be around 1500+ words. If you have any questions or feedback on the fic, feel free to comment!!
Now, the important part.
This fic will be based around an apocalyptic disease. However, I couldn't for the life of me find a place to explain the disease in depth within the story. So, I'll do that here.
The disease is called morsclalvia. Don't worry about the pronunciation of that, it'll most likely never be used in the story. The beginning signs of the illness is like a bad version of the flu. The infected person will experience nausea, headaches, muscle pain, etc etc. Then, their hair will severely thin or they'll lose it all together. Their skin will turn a sickly yellowish color and they will lose a significant amount of weight. Soon, the person will be driven insane. They'll become very aggressive and animalistic. They're not really people anymore after that. Even if there was a cure for the disease, the infected people would never go back to how they were before.
It's an airborne disease, infecting 98% of the population. However, a very small amount of people are immune to the illness while it's airborne. Anyone can be infected if they consume any bodily fluid from someone who was infected. This means that if you're bit, you'll get infected. The people who have in disease are called "the Infected" throughout most of the fic. The infected are very sensitive to sound and smell, and they like to travel in groups.
