And Then There Were Two

Chapter 1

"See you tomorrow!" I call to Kaitlyn as I head up my driveway.

"Yeah! bye Skylar!" She replies. I watch her turn the corner onto her own street, thinking about how much I'll miss her. Today would be the last day we would see each other until the middle of summer, since I would be traveling to L.A for awhile to spent time with my Aunt.

I turn around to walk up the steps, but stop short of the door. Strange. I think to myself. A pot is broken next to the door, I sigh, it must have been Johnny behaving recklessly on his way in. I'm surprised Mom hasn't already it up, but even stranger, the door is partially open.

I open the door the rest of the way, my mouth drops. Everything seems to go blurry and I hear a shrill scream pierce the air. I force myself to focus as I realize the scream had been mine. I hyperventilate as I take in all my surroundings. I see two bodies tied the coffee table with shots through their heads. I scream again as I realize that the two bodies, are Mom and Johnny.

I pull out my cell phone in a state of shock and dial 911. The operator picks up.

"Hello? 911, what's your emergency?"

I try to speak continuously, but nothing comes out.

"Ma'am? Sir? I'm sending dispatch to your location." Says the operator.

Everything begins to go black and I lose consciousness.

And then there was one.
