I won't move. I cant think of being somewhere other than right here next to you. I think it but I cant say it. She knows, I know she knows. She places her hand on my cheek and I let my tears meet with her warm skin. Even now when I can barely see and I find it hard to breathe I feel blessed to be able to say that she was the last thing I saw before I closed my eyes forever. "Its okay to let go" she says as I attempt to raise my hand to touch the one she still has resting on my cheek its okay to let go...let go...let go....go.

The sun comes waltzing into my room and the pain has returned to my rib cage. I take long shallow breaths and look around. I'm in a hospital bed with a uv drip attached to my arm. The room has thick metal walls and the smell of sickness surrounds me. I'm the only one here and the fact that the walls are so high and there are no visible doors makes me think that this is not by chance. I feel as if i'm being cadged. someone up there is watching. How did I get here. a young woman who doesn't look a day over 23 strolls over. Her name tag lets me know her name is Flaux. Her hair is worn in bounds down to her shoulder. The colour of fire and her blue eyes contrast her pale skin, she's beautiful and by the way she smiles back at my mesmerised glare I think she knows it. Flaux moves in slow motion until she reaches my bed. "Good you're awake, almost lost you in surgery took you a while to come too". Her voice is much heavier than I anticipated, I rub my eyes and sit up trying to find clues behind how I got here she stands at the end of my bed as if waiting for me to speak. so I do. "Errm hi, how long have I been out?" She squints for a while as if she doesn't actually know, after a beat she gives up and checks my file that's been hiding at the end of my bed. The red folder has the words patient 256 experiment 55 she slaps it shut and I jump at the sound forgetting that my ribs are still in the healing process. Flaux grins as she tucks the folder beneath her arm "You've been rejuvenating for three months" I choke at the thought and grinding my teeth through the pain of my ribs. Flaux whips round and walks back the way she came, after ten paces after whips round and knots her eyebrows "Well come on then, I haven't got all day". I look around waiting for someone to rush past me but no-one does "I cant move" *its okay to let go* I shake her echoing voice out of my head this is what lovers do. They say goodbye just like we had to
