"Bye Ava, good luck today! I am sure you will do great!" Addy said grabbing her school things, "Call me as soon as it's over!"
"Thanks Addy, I will!" I said walking back over to the table and sitting down in front of my computer to finish up a paper I had coming up for school.
The website for the job said that the interviews would begin at ten and it was currently 7:30. I decided I would get to the building around 9:50 to get checked in and give me time to relax a bit instead of having to go right in to the interview. I was anxious, to say the least, to find out who this assistant job would be for.
After finishing my paper, I decided to start getting ready as it was 8:40. I showered and put on some makeup. I got dressed into my new clothes and pulled my hair into a sleek and professional pony tail. I looked proper and was actually happy Addy convinced me to go get some things because otherwise I would have been a mess trying to figure out what to wear.
It was 9:30 when I walked out the door to my car. I took a deep breath before starting the engine and driving off towards A.D Graham Enterprises. It took me about twenty minutes to arrive and find a spot to park on the busy Toronto Streets. I grabbed my folder and clutch before walking into the very fancy building. I had never been in her before, as I had no reason to be. I looked around the lobby and just admired how nice everything was in her, so modern and sleek. I spotted the front desk to my right and walked over. The lady behind the desk smiled before saying hello.
"Welcome to A.D Graham Enterprises. What can I help you with?" She said very sweetly, giving me another smile.
"Hello, I am here for the interviews for the assistant position. Sorry I don't know who for, the site didn't give that," I smiled.
"Oh yes, May I have your name?"
"Avaline Reynolds,"
"Thank you Avaline. You'll be applying for Mr. Grahams assistant. We didn't give his name out due to his high popularity. We wanted serious inquiries only," she smiled and I did too but inside my heart was racing incredibly fast, "you can have a seat over there in the chairs, we will begin calling people soon," I said thank you before walking over and sitting down.
I couldn't believe this job was for Mr. Graham, one of the most powerful men in the city and not to mention, the wealthiest. I pulled out my phone to text Addy the news and then shut my phone off and slipped it in my clutch. I looked around at the other people waiting around to be interviewed too. Not too many people but I can only imagine if the website had mentioned just who it was for. This place would be packed so I could understand what the lady at the front desk had said.
After a few minutes, at ten exactly, a man came out from the elevator and called for Alex Frawn. A man who looked to be my age, stood up and straightened his suit before following the rather built man into the elevator again. I took what seemed to be my one hundredth deep breath today and tried to keep my nerves down as I knew soon my name would be called too.
After about an hour of people being called to go, my name was called. I appeared to be one of the last people waiting to go.
"Hello, Miss. Reynolds. I will take that," the man said as I gave him my resume. He told me a few things about Mr. Graham and the business before we arrived at an office. The man opened the door and laid my folder down on the large dark oak desk in the very big office. He escorted me to my seat before making his way out.
The seat behind the desk turned around to reveal a very and I mean very attractive man, Mr. Graham. I had seen him before obviously on magazines and he was pretty attractive then but wow, in person, it was hard to put into words.
