I woke up to the sound of my alarm beeping and I rolled over to turn it off. Today was my first day as Drake's assistant and needless to say I was a little more nervous than I intended on being. I took off from my classes today so I could be there the full day. Addy stayed home with me yesterday and we ended up going shopping again, since I actually needed the clothes now. I told her about some of the things Drake had told me about the job and she thought I was still dumb for taking the job. I just shrugged, although I agreed, and told her we needed the money.

It was currently 6:45 and I had to leave by at the latest, eight because of the traffic here in the city. I got up from my bed and trudged to the bathroom to shower. When I got out I brushed my teeth and went to get dressed. Today I decided on wearing an olive blouse with a black pencil skirt and the same heels from my interview. I put on makeup, more than usual, making sure to follow Drake's request that I look very well kept, which made me laugh. I wore my hair in a sleek ponytail once again and then went out to the kitchen to eat quickly. When I finished I grabbed my keys and new leather purse, a gift from my parents for getting the job, and went on my way to my new job. When I arrived, it was 8:53 so I bustled out of the car and up to the building. I walked in and saw Leslie sitting at her desk. She smiled and quickly stood up.

"Good morning, Miss Reynolds," she spoke sweetly.

"Oh please call me Ava. Good morning to you too," I replied following her into the elevator.

"Alright. How are you this morning? Any nerves? I know I was nervous as hell to start my job here," she laughed and I joined.

"You wouldn't believe how nervous I am,"

"You'll be fine, give it a few days. And I'm sure I know exactly what the nerves are about, believe me he told all of us the rules of working here," she shook her head, "just last year though apparently I did gain his trust and he finally told me what exactly he was doing with his business," I breathed in at the way she said it, almost coldly.

"Why'd you stay?"

"The pay, I need this job. I have a son and I can't afford to be jobless with him," she said sighing, "but anyway I should probably talk to you about the job now," I smiled and she began talking about the main terms of working here.

"Thank you, Leslie, have a good day," I smiled and walked into Drake's office where she told me I would be working.

"You too, good luck. I am sure you will do great here," she smiled and walked back into the elevator.

In his office, I noticed a desk that had just been brought in, for me. It matched his own desk, just smaller. Behind the desk was a white leather chair and some cabinets. On the desk was a laptop, paper organizers and some pens in a very classy little container. I laughed, this place was fancy, even down to the damn office supplies.

I placed my things on a coat rack beside me and took a seat at the desk. It was placed on the wall beside where his desk was and I laughed, he really couldn't have put it any closer could he? I mean there's a whole corner on the other side of the room and he put me here. Oh well. A few minutes later Drake walked through the door. He was in a navy blue suit. He looked flawless in it, more than he did on Monday. I stood up from my desk and walked in front of it.

"Good morning, sir," I said. This time I was the one looking someone up and down.

"Drake, remember?" he smiled. I blushed and nodded, "how are you Ava? Did Leslie go over the terms here with you?"

"I'm well thank you. Yes, she did," he nodded, walking to the coat rack by his desk

"Good. Are you nervous?" he smiled as he shrugged off his blazer, revealing a white button down with the top four buttons undone.
