Charlotte's p.o.v
"You look beautiful Charlotte." my mother placed her hands and her head on my shoulder as I adjusted my shirt whilst looking in the mirror.
"Thanks mom. Now don't forget, you need to eat your medicine as the doctor has prescribed." I turned to face her and remind her about her medicine.
"No worries, dad will remind me." she faked a smile but in real fact, dad won't remind her nor would she eat the medicine.
"Yea, like he will." I nonchalantly answered while rolling my eyes.
I turned to the mirror placed besides my pink and blue bed and adjusted my red and green striped shirt.
My mother's eyes squinted when she noticed I wasn't wearing the necklace William gave me.
"You're not wearing the necklace." she pointed out.
I nodded my head and said,"I'm single mom. I have to move on."
"Whatever you say." she answered as she walked to the door and opened it.
"Well you got to get to work honey. It's your first day after all."
I glanced at the mirror one last time and walked towards my mother and kissed her cheeks.
My mother closed the door and we walked towards the kitchen where by dad was sitting, reading the daily paper.
"Bye dad." I kissed his cheeks.
I turned to my mom and said a quick goodbye before walking to the front door and leave the house I have lived in for my entire life.
"Perhaps she can marry her boss." I heard my mom joke with my dad as I left the house.
"Yea like that's going to happen." I said out loud as I walked to the bus stop that nearest to my home.
Luckily the bus arrived in a few minutes so I arrived at my workplace a bit early than expected.
The first real job I have.
I used to work at a coffee shop until my friend recommended this job to me. I had the required necessities for the job so I took the chance. After all I needed the money to pay for mother's medication.
She had to take the medicine daily because she has heart problems. The medicine could rack up to thousands of dollars.
Even with my sister, Cara's wage added with mine, we can't afford it some times.
Both Cara and I couldn't go to university after we graduated collage because dad had to use his savings to have mother treated when she suffered a cardiac arrest.
We had to work a few jobs that paid a few hundred dollars. But today was the day, I finally got an official job.
I arrived at the towering building.
I walked in and approached the front desk where a busy yet classy woman was sitting at.
As I was walking in, I observed my surroundings. The floor was plain white. The room was decorated with sofas, vending machines and more. Besides that, there were a lot of people there who I'm guessing are rich businessman.
"Hi, I'm Charlotte Angel. I am supposed to start my work today." I muttered nervously when I reached the front desk.
I pursed my lips a I waited for the woman's reply.
The woman looked up from the messy pile of papers and stared at me.
"Right. Please go to level twelve and turn to your left. Walk towards the door. Knock before entering." she answered in the mono-tone voice before returning to look at her papers.
"Um... Thanks?" I said before walking off to find an elevator.
It took me a good five minutes to find it because the lobby of this building was so huge.
I followed the instructions as the woman said and I ended up knocking on the door.
"Come in." I heard a deep voice commanded.
I took a deep breath, turned the knob of the spruce door to enter and entered the room.
A man was standing inside of the room, facing the glass windows.
He looked familiar.
I took a few steps forward to try and put my finger on who he was.
The man turned to face me and I stopped in my tracks.
It was no ordinary man.
It was William Valentina.
My ex.
