"Why would you waste your time on your wasted crying, when you can be with me instead." Treat You Better - Shawn Mendez

"Oh, honey." Kirstie cooed, rubbing Mitch's back, "It'll be okay. He'll be back soon."

Mitch had tears falling down his eyes, showing symptoms of labour.

He was due in 4 weeks but apparently 'baby peanut' wanted out now.

"Please, call the ambulance." Mitch managed to breathe before crying out in pain as another contraction hit him.

"We have to wait until they're at least 30 seconds long, Nurse Nichols said so, and at the moment their only 15 seconds long." Kirstie said gently, her hand on her 5 month bump.

"Lay down, honey, I'll rub your stomach a little."

Mitch nodded and winced slightly but lay down and Kirstie took some massage oil and began rubbing it into Mitch's bump before taking a somewhat hot flannel and draping it over Mitch's bump.

Scott was at a 4 hour conference at his new job and had no clue that his husband was going through labour.

Mitch yelled in pain, attempting to even out his breathing.

Kirstie held Mitch's hand and dialled Scott's number.

He needed to be here.

Now.

"Mr. Hoying, if you would like to state your point as to why you should be the chief photographer for our company." The petite, brunette lady asked.

"Well. I'm a v--." Scott was interrupted by his phone ringing loudly.

He cleared his throat.

"Excuse me, it's my husband." He said sheepishly, pushing his glasses up.

"Go ahead, we can reschedule if you'd like." His boss said, smiling at him.

"Thank you, I'd like that. Is it okay if you email me the time and date?" Scott asked quickly.

She nodded and ushered him to leave the room.

"Hello?" Scott said, exiting the conference room and shutting the door behind him.

A loud scream was heard on the other line.

"What the fuck?" Scott asked, jogging to his car.

"It's Mitch, he's gone into labor." Kirstie said, almost tearfully.

"Labour? He's not due for another 4 weeks!" Scott almost yelled, unlocking his car and sitting in the driver's seat.

He slammed the door shut and waited for Kirstie to explain.

"Yeah, well Peanut wants out now. I'm going to call the ambulance as soon as we hang up. Just. Please hurry." Kirstie said, out of breath.

"Yeah, I will. Thanks for telling me."

"No problem."

The line was dropped.

Scott started his car, not bothering to put on his seatbelt and sped out of the parking lot, exceeding the speed limit as he drove to the apartment.

When Scott arrived, the ambulance was driving right behind him.

He waited for the paramedics but didn't want to make Mitch wait for him so he practically sprinted up two flights of stairs and shakily inserted the key into the door and unlocked it, flinging it open.
