Hey there guys! This is my first BoyxBoy fanfiction so I don't know if this is really good or not. But um, before you read this I want to go ahead and introduce my headcanons that I have that are placed in here:
•John's real first name is Jonathan but he prefers John, yet Jade's name is just Jade.
•Dave's first name is David yet he goes by Dave since his name isn't 'cool', and Rose's full first name is Roselyn.
•John is taller than Dave and he wears braces.
•Dave wears glasses when he's reading but only because it's for the 'irony'.
•Dave is called the 'Cool Kid' of his school but he actually hates it when people title him.
•Dave has a small Texan accent but it's barely noticeable unless he's mad and other stuff.
Also, I do NOT own Homestuck. This was just an idea I had and I wanted to write it, sharing it with everyone else. Hopefully you'll enjoy it!

•Chapter One•
Another Algebra test. Great. John sighs heavily as he allows his head fall to onto his desk, a low groan escaping him. He hates tests. He hates Algebra tests. He hates Algebra in general! Why does he have to suck at math!? The teacher walks by the raven-haired boy's desk and sets a twenty-paged test next to him.
"No sleeping in class, Mr. Egbert," she warns him. "That's already a point off of your test." He groans yet again as he sits up and looks at the test. With a pencil in his hand, John writes his name on the front page, along with the date, and looks at the first problem.
'If y= -78/9 when x=67, then what is y when x= -97?'
Fuuuuuck. The teen slams his head on his desk once again, causing a few classmates to jump a bit in surprise and glance over at him. His whole mind just went to mush. How can anyone do this!? This is insane! There is no way that someone can even finish this te-
"Here ya go, Miss," a voice says as footsteps pass John. He quickly sits up to see a tall blond strolling to the teacher's desk and handing her his test, turning back around and not a squeak escaping from his red converses. The blond is wearing faded skinny jeans with a chain hooked on it, along with a black t-shirt that has a broken record on it, the sleeves hidden by a bright candy red hoodie and a black pair of headphones resting around his neck. He adjust his darkly tinted aviators back into place as he calmly walks back to his desk behind John, not a single emotion in his facial features.
Okay. So maybe his best friend, Dave Strider, can finish this test but there's no way he can pass with finishing that quickly! Especially since he's the cool kid of the school. No cool kid passes an Algebra test. They're not suppose to do that, they're suppose to fail them and have some hot tutor help them like in the movies. John's bright blue eyes quickly glance back at his friend as he sits down in his seat and puts his head set on, pulling out his iPod and turning some rap song on while these thoughts race through his head.
A small sigh escapes him as he looks back down at his own test. He needs that hot tutor, or at least some tutor to help him in his Algebra skills. John taps his pencil against the test while perching his elbow on the desk and rest his head in his hand. This is going to be a long eighth period.
~Forty Minutes Later~
John had manage to scribble down some bullshit answers on his test to hand in so he can spend the last ten minutes of class sleeping. At the end of the period the bell signaling that school has ended rings loudly, startling the blue-eyed teen. He shakes his head as he quickly sits up. Students around him snatch their things and make a mad dash for the door. John tries to do the same, scrabbling to pick up his things and stuff them in his bag.
Just as he's about to run out the door, the teacher calls out John's name. "Jonathan Egbert, I need to see you after the rest of the class leaves," she informs him as she finishes with grading the rest of the test and he cringes at his first name. "And Mr. Strider," the said blond slightly turns his head to towards her, pencil in his mouth and his lips perfectly covering those bright, white teeth of his while shoving a notebook into his messenger bag, "I'll need you to stay behind as well. But please wait outside the classroom until I call you in."
He nods slightly and slings his bag over his shoulder before he nonchalantly walks out of the class. John watches him leave before he shuffles over to the teacher's desk, gripping the strap of his own messenger bag. He stares down at his Algebra teacher as she continues grading tests, waiting patiently for the students to leave.
Once everyone had left the class, she looks up at John. "You're failing Jonathan," she tells him. "You've failed every single test in here, you barely turn in your homework and projects, you never pay attention in class, and you're falling asleep in here. I'm probably going to have to make you repeat this grade." She neatly stacks the tests in her hand with a pile of test that are already sitting there while John's eyes widen in both shock and fear and his grip on his strap tighten.
"W-wait! You can't do that Ms-" He doesn't get the chance to complete his sentence before she starts speaking again.
"I can however assign you a tutor. Maybe a little bit of tutoring can help you and your grades with raise to where you can pass and go into the next grade with everyone else." She stands up from her desk and opens the classroom door. "You may come in David."
Maybe Dave's failing too and they both need a tutor! Maybe that's why she held him back after class as well! He's not the only one! These thoughts race quickly as he watches Dave walk in and stand next to him.
"David, you're-"
Failing too???
"-going to be Jonathan's tutor."
What!? This isn't suppose to happen! Both of the teens give their teacher a shocked expression. Well, John did and Dave had just widen his eyes a bit but his shades hide that reaction and make it seem like he isn't surprised.
"Look lady. You need to pick someone else to tutor the dweeb, not me. I suck at everything in class and-"
"Nonsense Mr. Strider! You have the highest grades out of anyone in this whole school besides your sister! Ms. Lalonde is already tutoring someone else and you're the only fit enough to help Mr. Egbert! Now, no more 'if', 'and', or 'but'! You are to be his tutor and that's final David! Now, you two are dismissed. And Jonathan, your tutoring starts on Tuesday, tomorrow. David, you best be at his house and he is at yours every Tuesday and Thursday for his tutoring," the teacher informs them before waving her and at them. "Go now."
The two boys walk out of the class, John in front of Dave. Even though he can't see him, he could feel the blond's eyes burning into the back of his head. He has a feeling that his best friend is probably now just his friend, or well, classmate after this whole thing.
Another friendship ruined. Fuck.
