Tv's came alive talking about a new trial the Italian military are about to unveil, a machine to send men back in time but not physically. They would lay in a bed hooked up to a machine.
David Fuller, walked down Pitt street in Sydney when he overheard a group of people talking about the project. David, or known to his mates as Davo, was a Corporal in the Australian SASR. Recently completing a tour in Afghanistan. He was selected to be a participant in the new experiment which would start in four days time.

"It would be sick, watching what the ancient fucks think of us modern dickbags", one of the teens said laughing around.

Being of English birth, twenty-six year old Fuller, loved the way Aussies talked. It reminded him a lot of the way the lads in England spoke, no respect or care for anyone. But, it was something about the Aussie way that attracted him to Australia.

Dressed in civilian attire, he went unnoticed in public. Just the way he liked. However, once the names and faces were published of the 8 men taking part in the trial. He wasn't completely unknown, which kept him looking over his shoulder. Especially being a soldier, it made him a prime target for any one trying to prove themselves to ISIS.

Walking into a cafe, Fuller, ordered a coffee and sat down, thinking. He thought about the task he is going to undertake with 7 other soldiers from around the world. As Fuller, was the non commissioned officer in charge, he looked over the men's profile. The first man, was a British born lad, like himself, born in Coventry, to a Scottish dad and Polish mother. Lance Corporal Angus Scott, was 24 years old, stood 5"7' tall, Scott was 3' shorter than Fuller. Scott currently serves in the British Royal marine commandos. Although never serving a tour with them, Scott did serve a tour with 3 rifles in Iraq. Although never served overseas as a Lance Corporal. He was awarded the Medal of Gallantry during that tour.

The next soldier was German, born in Heisenberg to German parents. Private Alois Rommel, is just 19, however apart of the German KSK (kommando Spezialkräfte) unit.  Fuller took an immediate liking to this soldier, his record showed he was constantly bullied for his last name, being that of Nazi General Erwin Rommel. His parents were brutally murdered in their house, Rommel, came home from school, aged 16 and took on the killer who was still their. Rommel, ended incapacitating the killer until police arrived. Although he got set free after a year in gaol, Rommel, who was rightfully pissed off, Instead of seeking blood, he used that motivation to push himself to be the best damn soldier and had been commemorated by his superiors on everything he does.
After going over these two soldiers, a pattern was occurred. Each man, has had a significant moment in their life in which they had to fight for their life. Not a standard contact, but hand to hand. Fuller, even had to do so. His trip to Afghanistan, he was clearing a room when he got a stoppage. The militant threw himself at Fuller, but his training kicked in and the end result was the militant choking on his blood after being slashed across the throat.

Taking out the third soldier, a voice broke Fuller's train of thought. Looking up, he saw a Asian looking women and a young child.

"Can I help you?", Fuller asked staring at the two.

The women replied in English with a strong Chinese accent. "Four years ago, you saved my child John Yoo from a fire in Chepstow. We never got to thank you properly as you left right after. We are forever grateful". She said taking a bow.

Fuller looked at the one young child, who could have only been ten years of age. Giving a big smile warming Fullers heart.

"I was doing what I was trained for ma'am. Saving and protecting the people living under the Union Jack", Fuller replied in a soft tone.
