It was tall...

It was dark...

It was....

Hippo's thoughts drew a blank as he tried to describe this horrific monster. 

It breathed on Hippo's delicate skin and it took a step forward. 

Hippo stumbled back, astonished by what he was looking at. Hippo was nervous. 

The creature took another step forward, out of the sheer dark and stepped out to where the moon shone its rays. 

Hippo saw all of its features... all of its odd features. 

Its incredible height. Its yellow skin. Its dark brown spots. It's horse like snout. Its long long lonnngg neck... It all made Hippo afraid. 

Hippo had never seen anything like this creature before.

 SKKKRREEECCHHHH

The thing made its noise again, and Hippo could smell its sour breath. Hippo took several steps back again, hoping that this thing wouldn't follow him, or worse: eat him. The thing didn't follow him, but instead had a smile on its face... possibly an evil smile.... 

Hippo turned and began to walk away, slowly, hoping that he wouldn't trigger the thing's screech. He frequently turned his head, watching the thing standing there, still with its smile plastered on its little face. Hippo was confused... why was it smiling?
