Chapter 1: That Broken Night

The place was well decorated and so were the food. It was crowded and people were nicely dressed. As the music was on, the party has started. The ladies were covered with beautiful dresses and dancing with their prince. This is the perfect night so I should enjoy it, now where is my prince?

I went through the crowd to search for him, where is he? I ask around but no one knows. After few minutes my feet was numb, I can't find him. I soon went upstairs to the rooftop where no one was there, I took off my heels and sat on the bench. The stars were bright and it was quiet, execpt the crickets, they were singing in the middle of the night making me close my eyes slowly and inhaling the fresh air.

"We can't do this to her" a girl with familair voice at the left side of the rooftop wakes me up. Is that Maria? As I look at their direction.

"we don't have to tell her" and Gabe?! "Come on we can keep it a secret" Gabe kiss her on the neck, I stood there shocked. They finally found me standing there with tears rolling on my face, "Jade?!" The tears kept coming. How? My mind was racing, "Jade we can explain!" I couldn't believe what I just saw, how could this happen?! I stand up, took off and ran with my barefoot, leaving my heels behind.

How could this happen, my bestfriend and my boyfriend?! My heart shattered in pieces. I ran as fast as I can, didn't care where I was going. Gabe and I have been dating for two years, now he's with my bestfriend, when did they start liking each other?! Suddenly something hard pushed me on the ground. Did someone followed me? I opened my eyes and saw a guy, his blue eyes were looking serious.

"What are you doing here?!" He asked as he pulled me up, his body was very big and muscular. "You better run!" He was breathing hard, is he being chased? Then I herd a running foodsteps and saw a group of guys. The one in the middle has green eyes with his blonde hair pulled back down, he was holding a gun. Before I opened my mouth the big arm guy grabbed my arm and start dragging me. He ran so fast I tried to keep in pace, this guy could be in the Olympic race! I tried to pull my hands away from him as he grip me so hard, "ouch!" He wouldn't let go, where is this stranger dragging me?

"Sh*t" he said as we found ourselves at the dead end. I herd a laughing sound from the other side, their getting closer.

"Is that your little princess your rescuing?" The same guy who was holding the gun laughed, he must be the leader of the group.

"Don't worry we wont hurt her, just give us what your dad took from us then we'll let you and your princess go" what's this has to do with me?

"look we don't have to do this, just give me a month" he releases my hand. "Give you a month?" What are they talking about?

"You'll run away and probably hide somewhere" the leader continues to laugh. What did I get myself into?!

"When I cout to three, run" he whispers to me. "One" run?! They have a gun, we have no chance to run at all! "Two" I kept my fear aside. "Three!" I run as fast as I can to the other side of their direction and didn't look back.

"Beep! Beep! Beep!" My alarm wakes me up. "Honey, breakfast is ready!" Mom voice was loud as ever. I get dressed and headed downstair.

"Mom, why did you make so much food for breakfast?" I look at the table. There were pancakes with syrup and cream on top, bacon and eggs, bread roll spread with cheese, and more. She made my favorite breakfasts.

"Honey, are you okay now? I made it just for you" I sit in the chair and take a bite off the pancake. "You didn't have to it's not like I'll finish it all" or will I.

"Honey, you came back home last night crying" I paused, "I won't forgive Gabe for hurting my daughter." Last night wasn't a dream?! So Gabe and maria was... and the guy I met being chased by those gangs weren't a dream?!

"Honey, who was the girl that Gabe was with last night, did you know her?" Oh my god so Gabe and maria did... "Ring! Ring! Ring!" My phone ring... It's Maria. I'm so angry at her for what she did as I rejected her call.

"Your not gonna pick up your phone?" As she watched me rejected it four times. "Mom do you wanna know who Gabe was with last night? It was actually Maria" She put down her coffee cup.

"You mean your bestfriend?" Was, until that b*tch stole Gabe away from me.

"Oh honey I'm so sorry, that's the worse thing a friend can do to someone" mom hug me. "Thanks for the food mom" I lost my appetite then headed back upstair before my mom could say anything.

I lay on my bed, as the image of those two came up. Ugh they were trying to keep their secret from me! If they weren't caught how long would they kept it away from me? Ugh I will never forgive them!

Then the image of the big arm guy popped up. He was sweating all over his forehead, did he escaped safely? What did his dad took away from them? Ugh I have so many questions that I wanted to ask. My mom open the door and came in "honey do you remember when I told you that that handsome guy was gonna stay here for a while?" I nodded, mom told me about the guy who came back from Juvie will be staying here, I didn't approve but she pursued me because she thinks he was a very good person so she decided to let him stay.

"Well he's here unpacking his stuff in the guest room, just so you know, you should come and say hi." I wasn't in the mood to. The guest room was just few inches away from my room. "I'm going to work now, love you."

After few minutes I went to the guest room to greet him. "Hi I'm Ja--" I stopped. I stared at his big arms and down through his abs, his skin was smooth white---he was shirtless. He puts on his white T-shirt and then finally notice me, his dark brown hair waves as the wind from the window hits it. His eyes were as blue as ever. I recognize those eyes...those blue eyes. The guest was that stranger I met last night?!
