I woke up to the noise of violent winds pounding on my window. About an hour prior to my sudden awakening, my dreams had become vivid nightmares. Pushed under the water, I began to thrash my body around. Freezing water had begun to penetrate my lungs and disable my breathing. I opened my stinging eyes to find myself drowning in water running red with blood. As I tried to find air, a bolt of pain through my leg had shown me that I was the cause for all this blood. Finally, I could breathe again, but this time I was awake. Moments after this awful terror, my body seemed paralyzed. I was trying to find my breath as if there was water in my lungs. The wind outside surrounded me just as the water had when I was pushed under. Within a matter of minutes, not only my dreams were corrupted, but my life has also become a living nightmare.
"Madison!" I heard my mother call before she burst through the door, "guess what?"
"What?" I questioned half-asleep.
"Well, I know how much you like that band of yours," she paused, "and well," she fell silent.
"Well?" I further questioned, beginning to be more aware of what was going on.
"You're going to go see them!" My mother shrieked.
"Really?" I squealed.
My mom had dropped the ticket in my bed and left for work. I looked down at the jacket I was wearing, lifted up the sleeves, and stared at my scars. Nobody knew how much this really meant to me. Five boys managed to steal my heart and my razor blades (well, partially.)
