Chapter One- Murder!

I was sent to look after him; a boy aged fourteen who was never to know about me. The guys from Black Veil Brides gave all the Fallen Angels who had passed but did not belong in heaven or hell; people to look after. Mine was a boy named Nathan Sworth.

My name was Ashleigh and I had no clue in what I had to do. I had been sent to heaven only to be sent to hell but both places I did not belong. I found my place with the saviours; the people who helped me stay alive on earth.

My time on earth was short. I died of natural causes at the age of fifteen. No doctor understood what caused my death, so they said it was natural. I suppose the amount of stress I caused towards my body and not forgetting the endless amounts of abuse I got from my step mum didn’t help. After getting, what the others call, my mission, I had to find the boy. Tracking him down was the easy part but trying to find out what I had to do afterwards was hard. His life was straight forward but there was something about this boy. I could not figure it out. Something weird, different and mysterious surrounded the boy like an aura I had never seen.

He lay on the sky blue bed; his body stretched out and relaxed, staring at the laptop which lay on his stomach. The calendar with an image I recognised; it was Jake Pitts with his usual growl face. It was the first Saturday of the New Year. “2012 will be my year” was written above the mass of posters. It’s been only a few minutes and Nathan’s wall told me more than I could off learned through talking. Asking Alexandria, Motionless in White, Marilyn Manson, Black Veil Brides, Escape the Fate. So many bands and faces I recognized. The floor looked as if clothes had been murdered and spilt, their insides everywhere and desks holding up small trophies and collectables. The boy lay still on the bed scrolling through the internet, unaware of my presence. I hovered over him and watched for a while.

I stayed in his bedroom for a while watching, he looked so calm it was quite different from what I have seen before in my own home. I was glad I was given this boy as my mission; I couldn’t deny it he was beautiful. Dark black hair brushed forward creating a spiky fringe covering his dazzling green eyes, his pale complexion practically ghost like gave the impression of being soft. He made swift, yet fluid movements, when turning for his drink which sat on his bed side table. The boy was wearing a fitting black long sleeve with his purple skinnies. He stood up stretched and yawned turned to the clock, which said 2:30 and set off out of the room, wandering around the room, taking a closer look at the little painted figures and dragon snow globes. The books upon his shelf, Subtle Knife, Harry Potter, James Bond; I learnt more about this boy every second.

The door opened: “Mum we’re out of toilet paper”. I couldn’t help but laugh as Nathan looked right at where I was stood. I didn’t know whether he could hear me or not but the blank expression on his face told me nothing. He then shrugged and walked over to his bed. A door slammed and a man’s voice shook the house, Nathan looked shocked and nervous. I didn’t leave the room.

The shouting went on for about two hours, then a scream and deadly silence the door once again slammed Nathan’s face couldn’t have been any whiter. I followed as his movements quickened and rushed. “Mum! Mum where the hell are you!” I could see the pain in his voice yet no reply. His eyes became glazed with tears. We got to the kitchen and there we saw it a woman’s body laid on the floor surrounded by blood. Nathan broke down crying I didn’t know what I could do so I had to stand and watch as he picked up his mum.
